I am officially 46! Another year, another milestone. This year’s celebration was rather simple. The day before, we were planning to have our lunch date, our very first after the lockdown was lifted here in Hawaii last June. We went to our usual place Goma Tei, our favorite Japanese restaurant inside the International Market Place in Honolulu. To my sheer disappointment, it is still closed without definite date for reopening. I almost felt defeated but thankfully, the other branch in Kahala mall was open for dine-in. It felt good being able to do normal things in abnormal times. After feeding our hungry bellies, I checked out a local boutique and bought some French bar soaps.

Call it trivial but I have been waiting for this day to wear makeup, because I haven’t been! I was also reserving the makeups sent to me by True+Luscious , a new-to-me brand hinged on clean, vegan and cruelty-free beauty. I have the Lucky glow palette which has 3 stunning highlighters, 2 flattering bronzers and 1 blush.
Pots of Gold: Soft gold shimmering highlighter
Royal Flush: Peachy pink satin blush
Triple Sevens: Rose gold, megawatt metallic highlighter
Good Fortune: Medium soft tan bronzer
Heaven Sent: Rose champagne shimmering highlighter
Serendipity: Natural light bronzer
I am also excited to try one of their moisture-rich lipsticks. Available in 13 hues, the one I had on is called vintage rose, a pretty neutral lipstick! It feels good to wear lipstick again! I mean, with face mask and all, I have neglected my lips. Very unlikely for a lipstick junkie, tell me I’m not the only one! This lipstick had me at first swipe! It feels soft, not waxy, and rendered a healthy shine overall.
This lip and eye serum is another win for me. The packaging reminds me of a filler syringe. Yes, it does come with a plunger so if you’re feeling fancy, hold it like you would in an injection, needle-free style. It’s a primer you can use either for your lips or under eyes. I use it mostly for my lips. It applies quite gel-like then dries to a non-tacky feel. It goes well with the lipstick so I am going to continue wearing it that way.
For my makeup below, I used the glow palette in the following manner: triple sevens on my lids and good fortune on my crease; royal flush on cheeks; heaven sent on cheekbone; triple sevens on collar bone. It’s best to apply triple sevens wet when applying on the lids so the fine glitter will stick better.
Other products used include Andalou BB cream spf 30 and 100% pure mascara.
I made these dainty gemstone earrings, I will be selling several styles on my shop pretty soon! I bought this bling mask from Etsy, face mask is mandatory here in Hawaii so if I have to wear one, it has to be fabulous!
Cheers to us ladies over 40. Look fabulous, glow up and own it!
Happy birthday, Kath! I love the earrings that you made!
Thank you!
Everything here is so pretty. I would love to try out that lip and eye serum as well as the e/s palette. Your earrings are quite pretty. As my mom would say “use them in good health”.
Gorgeous birthday look! I’m glad you were able to have your birthday celebration. The Vintage Rose lipstick is definitely my shade, too. I love it! And I can’t believe you made those lovely earrings, wow. What is the pink stone that you used?
Thanks Allison! The lipstick is fabulous, I think you’ll like it.
