Cruelty-free fashion is here to stay.
Accidentally vegan. Faux leather. Fabric material. Because at this day and age, we really need to start thinking about the impact of our choices, to the environment, to the animals.

With major fashion brands ditching fur (think Gucci, Versace, Burberry, Michael Kors, Armani, and thanks to Stella McCartney for paving the way), I firmly believe that the future of fashion will be cruelty-free. And with more and more companies finding ways to bring us high quality vegan materials, cheap faux leather will be a thing of the past. But it’s not to say that we can’t start revamping our closet with carefully edited fashion choices. Because in fact, there are a lot of options now that are accidentally vegan a.k.a cruelty-free, a.k.a faux. And quite affordable at that. This makes me happy because I breathe fashion! Leopard print is a trend this season. Actually it comes and goes so owning few here and there are staples for me at this point. Today I want to share with you my favorite four that are easy on the pocket and stylish! (read: how to look stylish on a budget)
These pointy pair of flats and slip on sneakers are from ALDO. Both are comfortable to wear and depending on the vibe I’m going for, I can easily switch from cute to rad. When my day at the clinic is packed with procedures, I wear flats so I can be on my feet stable and sound, without tripping. On Wednesdays or weekends, I go for dressed-down fabulous; you know, laid back but still looking put-together.
This pair of laced espadrilles from TOMS is quite a recent purchase and I got it on sale! TOMS have vegan options listed on their website so this was an obvious choice for me. I call these my statement shoes, especially when I’m wearing my jumpsuits (read: how to wear jumpsuits) or shorts. Now when I’m feeling eclectic and artsy, I turn to these booties with kitten heels from Circus by Sam Edelman. I don’t know with you guys, but each time I wear nice shoes, I feel fabulous even in a messy bun!
I love fall and even though we don’t get to experience the coziness of it all, being that I live in Hawai’i, it won’t stop me from dressing the part. It’s cold in the clinic so I have the perfect excuse, haha!
