Cruelty-free fashion.
I’m a leopard print lover, especially with shoes but I’m the type who likes variety so I’m glad that another print that I adore is currently on trend, snakeskin! Of course, we are talking entirely faux, vegan and cruelty-free. This year, we are seeing more and more companies bringing chic shoe styles to satisfy the growing demographics of fashion-forward yet animal loving earthlings. (Read: are your shoes vegan?)

So I’ve heard and read this many times: why do you want to be reminded of a murdered animal by wearing its resemblance? My answer is: so what do you tell people that wear non-animal print vegan leather with texture similar to cowhide, or even those who wear faux fur? Truth of the matter is, becoming vegan does not completely change your taste but rather your preference. We live in a world where options exist. I am a fashionable earthling who care about the animals that’s why I choose to wear faux, fake, vegan. My fashion sense has not changed, my options did. (Read: vegan sneakers). Veganism is not about perfection but our sincerest desire not to inflict harm and cruelty to our co-earthlings. Be kind to every kind, as the adage goes.
My first favorite are this pair of ankle booties from Abound. This brand is available at Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack/Hautelook. When I sent a photo of these shoes to my mom, she said these looked cool. The blurple shade juxtaposed with snakeskin makes this pair truly unique. I was kidding my mom, it’s easy to find me in the crowd: just look for the girl with blue-purple shoes. Now if you know me, my work wardrobe is mostly black so adding a pop of color like this instantly elevates my otherwise boring day to day outfit. I own several shoes from Abound, from block heels to booties, they are all good quality and comfortable to wear.
The crossbody is from JW PEI, a vegan brand which is now sold at Petit Vour (watch my review here). When I discovered this brand early this year, my orders shipped straight from China. I remember their pricing structure back then was affordable but now that they have become quite popular among vegans, I noticed that they jacked up their prices quite a bit.
Another eye candy is this pair of boots from Naturalizer, which is a mainstream brand that offers faux leather options. Again, with my monochromatic black outfit, it’s a statement pair of shoes. When it comes to fashion, I let my bag or shoes do the talking. Most of the time.
The backpack is from JW PEI, I feel like this is the perfect bag to wear together with these booties. I have a review of this bag on my channel, here’s the link in case you want to see it in action.

Finally, these mules which you may have spotted from my previous post (read: styling my mushroom leather bag). They’re from Abound, I told you I like this brand so much. Price point is decent, same with the quality.
What fall trend are you loving right now?
SHOP MY LOOK
Very chic, especially the blue ones!
thanks Allison
I like wearing boots during the fall and winter time, even if it’s not chilly enough to warrant it
Same. Booties though for me and I live in Hawaii, lol
Those are gorgeous, and the blue ones are especially nice!
The blue ones are a statement!
Agree
Those boots are fabulous!!
Your tiny feet look good in these styles. The colors are great.
Haha. Thanks! Hard to find shoes that fit well
I’m not into animal prints but they always look so chic on you!
Thanks
Oh girl – these are hot! I’ve been more “risky” with shoe choices as of late. with a new weekend job, I’m trying to test out mules, and loafers. I so miss my sneakers. LOL But I LOVE LOVE LOVE bootlettes. I need these.
Love your risky shoe adventures. Rock on \m/
I am really loving your boots by Naturalizer in particular! I don’t see wearing animal print as a reminder of cruelty towards animals for their hides but more for showing an appreciation of all things natural.
Glad to know you have a different POV! I tell you, some vegans can be harsh to another one. Hence I needed to talk about it albeit briefly.
Ooh I love those python print boots from Naturalizer. They look so comfortable too!
Yes they are comfortable
I love the blue ones! They are so fun! And the jeans in the last pictures, totally like those too!
Thanks. Those are comfortable jeans too
Those are such cute and stylish show options for fall.
These are fun! But I feel like these types of shoes make me look shorter.
Really? I’m short!
Such statement shoes!
The blue shoes are so cute!
Those blue booties are too cute!
I absolutely love the blue booties! I’m rather neutral with my clothing choices usually, but shoes and handbags is where I’m not afraid to go crazy with prints/colors.
I am not a fan of snakeskin pattern/look, but I am a fan of Naturalizer!
I love the crossbody bag!!! So sleek and would go with anything!!
The blue ones have my heart.. So chic looking.. Would love to own one of them 🙂 And you are looking amazing as usual and carrying them with such elan..
Hi,
I have a questions about JW PEI bag.
Is it hard to tell microfibre leather from PU? Is it a big difference in touch and feel between them?
Based from my experience, microfiber feels smoother and weighs lighter than PU. I hope this answers your question
I love the faux snakeskin look on you, you really rock it!
Hi, Kathryn
I left a comment couple days ago but it didn’t show:(
How do you think, is it too good to be true, microfibre bag for $30 (see link below) on aliexpres. How do you think , it’s worth giving it a chance?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2019-New-Crocodile-Pattern-Wide-Shoulder-Strap-Messenger-Bag-Semi-circle-Saddle-Bags-Unique-Designer-Women/32978988693.html?spm=a2g17.10010108.1000001.12.54882181TM8FHJ
If you interested you can search ” micro fiber” in search box.
I haven’t bought anything from aliexpress. It looks like something from JW PEI’s latest faux croc style. Did you see their latest collection?
Yes i did. But i’ve noticed that in description of their faux croc leather products, the main material is vegan leather, they didn’t specify if its microfibre or PU.
And JW PEI doesn’t have moon/saddle shape in their collection 🙁
