February was a blur but can you believe we’ve already knocked down two months this year? Today’s post is going to be straightforward and sweet and my intent is to revisit my favorite looks last month and hopefully inspire you and I to derive fun and creativity from the most mundane things. Here we go:

If you’ve seen my recent beauty haul, you probably had an idea that I did hoard Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks, hence they were featured countless times on my Instagram. I like the shade I was wearing in the above photos, well practically every singe shade I procured. This red shade called Misfit totally matched my embroidered lace top, a staple in my closet which I bought around the same time last year. Side tip ladies: if you’re doing #mirrorfie (selfie in mirror), please make sure that you clean your surroundings or hide the obvious eye sore!
I know, another Kat Von D Lipstick but how can you not appreciate this purple shade? It’s called l.u.v and it’s indeed love at first swipe. It’s bright enough to “shock” people but still wearable even for daytime. I also like this smudge-proof mascara from Wet n Wild (not all their products are vegan but the brand itself is cruelty-free). This is the only mascara from their line that’s vegan, not advertised as such but based on the ingredients. And while it does not give me the length and volume like Tarte, I like the fact that it does not smear even after a long day at work. I also like my hair here because it looks like I’ve curled it or did something fancy but really, this is just a second-day hair. Sometimes my hair behaves like an altar boy, a lot of times it drives me nuts! So this is one of the finer days it cooperated nicely for a quick #mirrofie. This is a jumpsuit with spaghetti strap and since it was raining and chilly when this photo was taken, I wore a cropped lightweight sweater underneath to layer.
Por favor but this is another Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick, the shade is called Backstage Bambi, a bright pink not made for the faint of heart. Fuchsia is out of my comfort zone but I’m in it for variety (check out other shades from this collection). I like the easygoing vibe of this outfit too especially these faux leather oxford shoes and exposed socks. This tote bag is one of my favorites from Angela Roi (watch my entire collection). Side tip ladies: if you’re taking selfies, lift your head to the side to define your features as well as avoid the shadowing of unsightly eye bags. Take several photos (minimum 20) and most often than not, unless you’re a pro, you will most likely yield top 3 nice angles so the more photos, the better your chances are.
Can you guess why there were no people around, to think that this was in Ala Moana (the biggest outdoor shopping center in the US)? truth of the matter is, we arrived early for our doctor’s appointment so to kill time, we drove to the nearby mall. It wasn’t even 7am when these photos were taken, it was also chilly that day hence the overly dramatic shawl/scarf. I bought this shawl (looks like Burberry but it’s not; also made from cotton) from a flea market 15 years ago in Bangkok, Thailand, it’s safe to assume that it witnessed everything in my life that’s why I am quite attached to it, haha! The crossbody bag shown here is from JW Pei, I did an unboxing and initial impression on this video. I love this bag, it’s made from microfiber, it shipped fast, and it’s quite affordable too (read Is Vegan Leather Good or Bad) Also, except for groomed eyebrows, I wasn’t wearing any makeup in these photos because I didn’t have time to do it due to our early appointment. My mom actually noticed and asked why I didn’t have even lipstick on! I know, my mom is my no.1 fan and critic at the same time, haha (watch my no makeup makeup video).
