My Spring Must Haves

Aloha my dear friends and readers! As we wrap up for February and prepare for the incoming season (spring speed up!), I feel compelled to share and enable you what I have been loving lately, both new and recurring staples, that are absolutely spring-appropriate (check out skincare for all ages).

Spring Beauty and Fashion Must Haves

Fresh face is back! While I have always been a fan of barely-there makeup, fresh and dewy look is making a comeback, season after season. I prefer a tinted moisturizer which offers extra hydration, light coverage and sun protection such as Tarte Amazonian BB (see it in action here) and nude lipstick shade like Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick Ludwig (watch my recent vegan and cruelty-free haul).

Rock a bright complexion. Slough off winter skin blues with mild exfoliating agents like derma-e micodermabrasion scrub. You can also jumpstart your at-home facials with Drunk Elephant Sukari Babyfacial which has AHA and BHA and incorporate Vitamin C serum like 100% Pure. Exfoliate once or twice a week, do your facial at least once a week and use moisturizer and/or serum day and night, not to forget sunscreen in the morning. If you’re dealing with dark spots that do not respond to over-the-counter products, granted they are not precancerous (anything suspicious requires dermatologist inspection), you can benefit from laser skin resurfacing that specifically address sun spots, dark spots and wrinkles. I have discussed several options in this post. If you’ve been contemplating on laser procedures, now is the perfect time to do it because of “less sun exposure” as sun avoidance will help with yielding optimal results.

Spring Must Haves

Airy and breezy for the win. While florals are the default look for spring, I’d say anything that’s dainty and breezy can in fact project a spring-ish vibe. A cardigan or lightweight jacket is likewise a necessity. Sticking to neutrals and clothes that you can wear multiple ways season after season is always a good choice. Same is true with your handbag, opt for something that you can carry either as satchel or crossbody.

Spring bodybuilding. I know winter has prevented some of you to exercise but if you’re thinking to lose the extra pounds gained from last year’s festivities, now is the time to get your body ready for summer. Run, bike, hike, swim if you prefer outdoors or hit the gym (or in my case at home) to get you rollin’ (read my fitness goals for 2018).

  • Derma E oil should be on everyone’s Spring skincare must-haves list. I love the tie-dye dress as well. Super cute!

  • I don’t have anything in particular on my spring list. I love your beachy look. And it’s been decades since I owned anything tie dye – in fact, I made my own tie dye T shirts and made tie dye fabric out of a white bed sheet that I made into a long skirt back in high school. Maybe it’s time to reprise that pattern.

Thank you! I used to make tie dye too back in the day, that’s so cool you used to make also! Yes, time to give tie dye a modern twist, you should make one again. I got this (and 2 other colors) from HauteLook

  • talking about spring, meanwhile winter has finally arrived!

  • I’m all about flowy. It’s comfortable and feminine. Great advice!

  • My spring must have…..that beach!!! You look fabulous!!!

  • It will be quite a while before spring arrives here–still snow on the ground.

Just super colorful! I find myself wearing so many darker colors but really want to branch out! This was a lovely post!

I’m not really into florals, but I do grab for more flowy items once it gets to warmer spring weather. I’m also due for a good facial right about now and just have to make arrangements.

  • I used to make tie dye and batik back when I was a kid! Love your dress!

  • Jess Scull

I am totally adding Ludwig to my Sephora cart ASAP

  • The Drunk Elephant Sukari Babyfacial sounds super interesting. I need to research this.

  • I love your black sunglasses, but they look different from the pink ones linked. What brand are you wearing in your photo? I’m well overdue for a new pair (or two!)

  • Ehmkay nails

I love that dress on you. I need to be on the beach

  • You have such a great aesthetic. That sounds lame, but seriously!

  • Aloha! I love your outfit – so comfortable & stylish. Great picks.

  • I need to get on that spring training! Summer is coming up and I wanna be a bit more beach ready lol! 🙂

I’m working on toning my arms, my Waterloo so like you, I hope to look more toned by summer lol

  • I absolutely ADORE your blog. I too am excited for Spring!! It’s my favorite time of the year.

Thanks so much! I also love spring, Fall is my fave, followed by spring

  • I love your list. 😉 I have a dress similar to the one you have on, of course, I don’t look nearly as great in it as you do. Definitely, some great products you mentioned. I’m hoping that by the beginning of summer, I’ll be on my way. Been working on a healthier me since November (well, for a long time really) and the results are paying off. Now I just gotta keep it up and stay positive.

Thanks sis! You look good, just wear that dress and rock it. I’m happy that you’re seeing the results in your health journey. Keep up the good work
