Not too long ago, I received a question if I have accidentally vegan favorites. The answer is yes, of course! Accidentally vegan means products or brands, mainstream or not, that are not marketed or labeled as vegan but just happens to contain zero animal or its byproducts. For example, Lay’s Potato Chips (original/ barbecue), Wheat Thins, even Pringles (original). I’m not a huge snacker so these don’t obviously do not qualify as products I love or endorse with confidence. Reality is, you can be vegan but unhealthy by consuming calorie-dense junk food and that’s not the route I want you to undertake (read how to transition to plant-based).

While accidentally vegan generally pertains to food, I am expanding it to include some fashion staples you can add to your wardrobe and feel good about the fact that no animal was harmed. Such is the case with this textile (yes it is!) snake skin satchel-crossbody bag I snagged from Hautelook. It got me so creative that I tucked it in between the branches so it looks like a snake, sssssss.
The ring holder gives it a modern vibe and the faux leather strap makes it a convenient crossbody bag when I am doing errands. At work, I prefer structured bags like Angelo Roi as featured from this post.
Another accidentally vegan favorite is this pair of slippers from Ted Baker, again a great find from Hautelook. I live in Hawaii so slippahs (as we call it) like these are staples. C’mon, look how cute they are! I can’t wait to wear them more often, spring speed up!
When shopping for bags and shoes, I type in either vegan or faux leather in the search tab. Fake leather is cheap thus most are poorly made. But times are changing because with the rise of vegan demographics come lucrative market opportunities. If you’re looking for vegan luxury handbags other than Stella MacCartney, check out my handbag collection featuring Angela Roi.
Can we go back to food again? I don’t know about you guys but I love me some Tabasco or Sriracha sauce. I don’t use both all the time but in days I want to spice up my meal, it’s always nice to have something I can easily pull from the pantry. Accidentally vegan? ha I told you so.

Love that purse! I think I probably have some “accidentally vegan favorites” in my non-beauty items too.
Pretty sure of that! Thanks
That is a very chic vegan bag! I never would have guessed it was vegan
Thank you, my husband thought so
I love that bag, the print, the style and how you rock it!
Mahalo for your sweet comment
I’m seriously impressed with your faux snakeskin bag! I wouldn’t have known it was vegan without you saying something.
Yes even my husband thought so
I love your sandals and Tabasco is my vice. I dump that stuff all over just about everything I eat.
Can’t blame you, it’s so good
BTW, I love what you’ve done with the place!
Thanks much! Still learning WordPress
That purse and those sandals are stunning!!!!!!
Many thanks
This is a really good point. A lot of people think that if something is vegan, it’s automatically cruelty free and/or “all natural” or vice versa. Really different things!
Thank you. Exactly, we need to educate ourselves and not believe everything being claimed
its always fun to find good surprises in your closet!
thank you!
I didn’t now Siracha was! I love that from time to time with some avocado!
Yep it is!
Love that bag!
I’ve never thought of fashion items as vegan but it makes perfect sense. Great series, I’m always looking for more ways to adopt a vegan lifestyle.
I’m glad you’re adopting a vegan lifestyle. Yes there are a lot of vegan options now even in fashion. Proof that vegans are growing in numbers
Cute shoes! I love the bag too!
Mahalo!
I feel like most hot sauces are vegan!
Not all so better read ingredients
Love the bag, it looks so luxe! And is that a jade bracelet? It’s beautiful 🙂
Thanks much! Yes, jade
I think these could be some favourites for everyone, vegan or not!
Yes you’re right!
I miss living in slipahhs (from my days in Singapore). And yes to the Sriracha and Tabasco, I always have it on hand.
Oh yes, I love Singapore! Fave Asian country
Two super cute items! I love finding steals on Hautelook, you can’t beat the savings! P.S. – LOVE the new layout!
I super agree, I always browse HauteLook on lunch breaks lol
I adore those shoes!
Ditto
I have some accidentally vegan favorites too. It’s always a nice bonus.
Yes! Always a nice bonus for sure
cheers to all your vegan style & choices
Mahalo!
That bag is spectacular! I love it!
I won’t do fake leather for shoes or handbags, but cloth is a good alternative. Now hot sauce I can get behind!
Hot sauce! Now you are talking my language!!! I love both of these brands!!
I love when I realize that things I love are accidentally vegan! That purse is so cool!
ey you’re back! I hope everything went well! Can’t wait to see the cute baby!
