Utterly pigmented with commendable longevity, Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick certainly lived up to the hype. Love bold lips for summer? scroll down for full details and swatches of Thrill Seeker (red orange), Disorderly (deep brick red), and Drivers Seat (pink coral).
Available in 20 shades at $24 each, these liquid lipsticks earned a coveted spot in my growing stash of liquid lipsticks. Quality-wise, they are at par with Anastasia Beverly Hills (featured here and here) and if you follow moi at Instagram, you may have seen me rocked them multiple times in the last couple of weeks.
These liquid lipsticks are housed in rectangular tubes with doe foot sponge applicator which has slit-type hole at the center. If you own any YSL liquid lippy, you will see a stark similarity as to how the applicator was designed. But it has function more than anything else as it allows the slit to secrete extra pigment which inevitably translates to phenomenal opacity from the tube to your mouth, all in one swipe! Thrill Seeker is slightly drier in terms of formula in comparison to Drivers Seat and Disorderly but all in all, they do not dry out my lips. As a side note, it’s imperative to exfoliate and moisturize your lips to avoid unsightly lines and whatnot. Depending on your activity, these don’t budge or migrate but they do fade after a hearty meal. Disorderly is deep brick red, a “mature” kind of red in my opinion. Thrill Seeker (red orange) is for the bold, wild and upbeat I must say! Drivers Seat (pink coral) is neutral with a twist, more like an everyday color for me.
Given my favorable experience, I ordered two more shades from the line so watch out for another round of swatches. Meanwhile, here are the three shades worth your mouth! Come, let’s paint the town Smashbox!
