How are you spending your summer so far? I’ve been hitting the beach lately, playing tourist and just enjoying my time off from work like a nomad.

Poncho-style cover up (Hautelook, invite here)
Denim lace shorts (Target)
Leather choker with abalone pendant (made by me)
Ray-Ban mirrored sunglasses (Macys)
High-rise bikini bottom & top (Victoria’s Secret)
My beach look vis-a-vis essentials are minimalist to say the least. For one, I’m the type who doesn’t want to carry or wear so much makeup while at the beach. Honestly, I frown at beauty tutorials with girls piling product upon product. It’s the beach, not a runway girly! With that said, ‘thought I’d show you what’s in my beach bag in case retouching is necessary.
Neutrogena Beach Defense Sunscreen Spray SPF 70. I’m all about sun protection. I don’t want to deal with sunburn and more importantly, I loathe photodamage and threat of melanoma that’s why beach days or not, I can’t leave home sans sunscreen. I like this sunscreen spray because aside from its high spf, it smells like citrus.
Murad Hydrating Toner (deluxe size). This spritz-type toner is a great way to hydrate my face after being out in the sun. The apple fragrance adds to the whole refreshing moment!
L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara. It’s a 2-step mascara that’s supposed to give lashes to-die for length and volume. It lengthens but volume is okay, not as advertised. However, I like it because it is indeed waterproof.
Liquid Lipsticks (Anastasia Crush & Stila Firenze). Talk about long-wearing; both of these liquid lipsticks withstand sand, sun and water so for the ultimate beach babe, I can’t recommend them enough. Anastasia Crush (worn in the photos) is soft beige while Stila Firenze (Sephora VIB Rouge exclusive) is mauve-beige.
Tom Ford Bronzing Powder Gold Dust. If you’re in the mood for summer glow (like a diva emerging from the waters, haha!), then you need this in your life. If you know me, I adore bronzers 365d, I can forego pinched cheek but not sun-kissed warmth!
Wet Brush. This is the ultimate detangler, beach bum or not. No tugging and pain for your sea salt hair.

So need to try some Murad, keep hearing about it everywhere. Love your bikini x

That brush is key for salt water-wet hair!
I love your style! And I neeeeeed those shoes!
Oh, now I'm kicking myself for not buying the Anastasia liquid lipstick! If you check out my post, it's a review of a beautiful shade of Fiona Stiles that has a tendency to wander. I love your tunic/coverup too!
I love the selection of must-haves that you bring to the beach!
I'm even more minimalist–I only bring sunscreen, a wet brush, my towel, and water!
Gorgeous girl! And, love that cover up and all your essentials! <3
I don't go to the beach often but if I do I mostly have sunscreen and a brush. Lipsticks might melt and I don't want to fuss with other cosmetics. The heat totally zaps me.
Love that swimsuit! The Anastasia Crush liquid lipstick looks gorgeous too
Thanks Mai
I love your style! I haven't been to the beach in well over a year and a half….and it's only 15 minutes away!
You're not alone. I only go to the beach whenever we have guests in town…to think I'm only 5 mins away 🙂
Wish I live 5min from beach. *sigh*
Grass is always greener, eh?
Love your beachy style! I think I need that TF bronzer in my life too! lol
Gotta have TF in your life mama 🙂
Fabulous style, very Fabzilla and cute. I am under an umbrella away from direct sunlight if I do ever make it out to the beach.
Thanks much Norah! Things we do to protect our precious face from UV rays
Great picks! I totally am with you about the wet brush! I can't live without mine!
It's a hair saver indeed!
Thanks for sharing a peek of your bag. Love your cover up too. You have an effortlessly chic style.
Many thanks Courtney. xox
You look so gorgeous! I love your outfit.
