So let’s do a little throwback. As some of you may recall, my hair underwent a rather radical transformation last December, I went blue black, the darkest I’ve been in eons! While I initially liked my demi-gothic aura, it dawned on me that this shade didn’t seem to compliment my features. Unlike Courtney from Phyrra who can be a chameleon when it comes to hair color (yes, I’m looking atcha!), I seem to do really well with varying blondes. My aunt who’s my numero uno ally yet doesn’t mince words told me bluntly “Kathryne, you can do whatever you want with your hair but dark hair is not for you”. So fast forward to mid-February, I went back to blonde gradually.

…gradually as advised by my hairstylist. She told me that dyeing my hair full blonde, coming from blue black is the harshest thing I can do to my hair so she suggested to do it in series. So yes, I settled for ash blonde highlights initially to give my hair time to recuperate from all the chemicals (I’m due to come back mid May). In the interim, I’ve been extremely careful as to what products I use to protect the color vis-a-vis repair and hydrate my “over-fried and dry hair”.
Call it perfect timing because one of my trusted skincare brands has expanded to hair care! Sold in different variants, I had the chance to try Strivectin Hair Color Care line. Oh yeah, just what I need to revive my crowning glory!
Fact: I love the outdoors. Aware that active sun exposure can accelerate the lightening of hair color or turning brassy, I am more than glad to have discovered Strivectin Hair Color Care UV Protective Spray. Rich in minerals and amino acids, this hair savior features sinesis leaf extract which protects the hair from free radicals, UVA, and oxidative stress to help preserve hair color. It also has hydrolyzed flaxseed extract which enhances and maintains natural hair color. The NIA-114 patented technology claims to to treat strands and scalp, revitalize hair from root to tip, and improve the overall health of the hair. I use it just like a regular hair spray, spritz all over mane before I head out. I really love that it doesn’t make my hair feel greasy or sticky!
Another great find is Strivectin Vibrancy Booster. As the name suggests, it boosts color-treated hair. It works like a mask: massage from roots to tips after conditioning, leave on for 3 minutes then rinse. I seldom use “miraculous or magical” in my reviews because I don’t want to promise heaven to my readers, but this my friends, without a doubt works like magic! I can instantly see illuminated and vibrant hair color every time I use it so I’m stocking up for sure.
Finally let’s tackle Strivectin Hair shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. Used in combination, I really like how my hair feels: ultra-soft and manageable for days (I wash my hair 3x/ week)! Both has subtle fragrance and doesn’t weigh my hair down. The bonus? I experienced neither residue nor scalp irritation.
Just so you know, Strivectin Hair is free from parabens, sulfates and phthalates. The rest of the line include products made for thinning, limp, and lackluster hair.
I love my StriVectin skincare, and this haircare sounds like it's going to really help your color transition. I look forward to seeing your next change!
That Vibrancy Booster sounds amazing! I love that the brand is making hair products now.
The Colour Care hair products have become my go-to. I love them!
I'm getting whiplash, watching your hair transformations. 😉 Liking the blonde-ie lights.
I used these today and my husband even noticed that my hair looked better. I have a travel set and so far the only one I've bought full size is the Vibrancy Booster since it's so unique.
These sound fabulous! I'm always looking for good sulfate free items.
Your hair is looking great!
Love your hair! I totally want to do something with mine – I just don't know what yet. Also…waiting for the $$ to be able to, lol!
I've heard really nice things about StriVectin's hair range. I want to do something with my hair as well but am in this let's-see-how-long-it-can-grow-without-cutting phase.
I love that you experiment with your hair. I need to more often!
For what it's worth I think dark hair actually suits you very well! 🙂
