I admit to have been missing out on drugstore brands so I’m glad to reconnect with L’Oreal via its True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation line. Available in a rather expansive shade selection (12 in total), I have three which cater to medium skin tone like mine. Scroll further for the juiciest scoop and swatches!

Packaged in rose gold and white clickable compact, it opens up with an applicator sponge on top and a decent-sized mirror. You have to open it sideways one more time to reveal the actual product. As the name implies, it’s cushiony and soft, similar to a sponge drenched in cream.
Depending on your preference, the coverage is between sheer to medium. Because you are using the sponge to dig into the compact, it is imperative to have clean face, both for hygienic and better application reasons. In my experience, I need to reinforce the blending process with a foundation brush as I find the sponge a little too stiff to do the job. The finish is dewy and luminous so if you have normal, dry or even aging skin, you will appreciate how this makes your face look radiant. I have combination skin so I have to lightly set it with finishing powder and blot my face few times throughout the day. Total wear time for me is a commendable seven-hour without oxidization.
‘thought I’d show you how I apply L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion (N3.5 Classic Buff). You can see how it corrected some facial redness and unevenness.
…and here’s the finished look as I don’t want to end this post half-cooked.
