L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation: Review, Swatch, Demo

I admit to have been missing out on drugstore brands so I’m glad to reconnect with L’Oreal via its True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation line. Available in a rather expansive shade selection (12 in total), I have three which cater to medium skin tone like mine. Scroll further for the juiciest scoop and swatches!

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Swatch Review

Packaged in rose gold and white clickable compact, it opens up with an applicator sponge on top and a decent-sized mirror. You have to open it sideways one more time to reveal the actual product. As the name implies, it’s cushiony and soft, similar to a sponge drenched in cream.

Depending on your preference, the coverage is between sheer to medium. Because you are using the sponge to dig into the compact, it is imperative to have clean face, both for hygienic and better application reasons. In my experience, I need to reinforce the blending process with a foundation brush as I find the sponge a little too stiff to do the job. The finish is dewy and luminous so if you have normal, dry or even aging skin, you will appreciate how this makes your face look radiant. I have combination skin so I have to lightly set it with finishing powder and blot my face few times throughout the day. Total wear time for me is a commendable seven-hour without oxidization.

I have gotten these to test out and was amazed at how well they worked for me. Before I stopped using foundation a few years ago – L'oreal true match was my go-to drugstore foundation so I'm glad to see that it still works as well.

This sounds fantastic! I definitely would love to try this foundation! It amazes me how drugstore brands continue to tighten the gap between their products and the high end department store counterparts!

I just bought a cushion foundation from IT Cosmetics, but the shade is too dark for me in winter. I will check out this line and I may pick up one in a shade more suited to me now. I like cushion foundation for everyday wear. Glad that L'Oreal is on the cushion bandwagon

This reminds me exactly of the Lancome one that I have. I really liked the formula but it took my dry skin to a sweaty look so I had to set it with powder. I don't use it much but I did like it after playing with it extensively.

I love how your skin is looking right now. It's great that a drugstore brand delivers such great results.

    You look lovely!

I'm eager to try more cushion products. It seems that they deposit just the right amount of foundation!

Thanks for the review, I've been curious about this.

Ooh! I really want to try this. I'm guessing Natural Tan would match me! Thank you for swatching these!! <3

I'm not sure this one does your beauty justice.. I'm pretty sure my oily skin would turn this into a sweaty mess if you had to touch up after a few hours.

I really like these! I've been testing them out the last few weeks, and really impressed with the finish. I also love the packaging!

That rose gold packaging is so pretty. For my oily skin, cushion compacts are hit-and-miss – IT Cosmetics works but Lancome? Not so well.

This is so pretty I terms of packaging, I have it in my door or items to try next. I personally think this would be great for every day

I've never tried a cushion product before! I think I have samples from another brand but it looks cool!

  15. March 2, 2016 / 3:36 pm

I've seen a few bloggers wear this foundation and it looks so nice and natural! I'm amazed!

Girl – you look fabulous. I was very impressed with the pretty packaging on this product and when they sent it to me… I had to mix two shades to get the shade I have been wanting… which is a pain in the butt… but I know that there is a shade for me if I need it hopefully – because the original True Match had the perfect match when I used foundation. I don't mind mixing, it's just a challenge. lol

I've tried the Pur cushion foundation and really like it, so I would totally give this a try. I love the look of the packaging.

These look so nice. I'm always looking for ways to make my makeup easier.

I prefer a lighter foundation and these look amazing!
