Liquid lipsticks are all the rage lately and more and more brands are joining the bandwagon. Loud and wild, let’s further examine these two shades from Ciate London Liquid Velvet line, Risque (orange red) and Sass Pot (bright pink).

Packaged in a plastic tube, the color you see from the outside is consistently true inside. The formula is creamy and thick, similar to a melted crayon. Anastasia liquid lipstick (review here) and MAC retro matte liquid lipstick (review here) are more “liquid” by definition.

The doe foot sponge applicator deposits oodles of pigment in one swipe, enough to cover the entire lips without having to reapply repeatedly. It dries matte in about a minute or so and while I love the  attention these two shades render, I didn’t like how both accentuated my lip lines as they settle and sit in between. The wear time is relative to your activity; it’s gone after a meal, diminished when you dab facial tissue, intact when you leave it alone.

If you have less pronounced lip lines, I think you’ll enjoy the formula but given my propensity for bright shades, anything that takes away the beauty from it all is a letdown.
