BEAUTY WITH ECO-MISSION | Sophisticated Rebel Lipstick

Once in a great while, I do step out of my comfort zone a.k.a luxe mainstream brand; most especially if the product is something out of the ordinary, be it in the packaging, formula or even the philosophy behind the ingenuity.  I had the opportunity to try a uniquely-designed flat lipstick by an entirely new-to-me brand Sophisticated Rebel. Curious? I presume you are so scroll down for more scoop!

Sophisticated Rebel Lipstick, Review, Swatch

Driven with eco-mission and fueled by compassionate cause, Sophisticated Rebel’s founder Kasten Spethmann created the lipstick line anchored on recyclability. The stainless steel blade applicator is designed to hold the refillable cartridge. Likewise, a portion of every sale goes to a non-profit Rebel with a Cause which grants money to any female causes and charities, in particular, those who champion equality. You can read more here

For your initial purchase, you will receive the stainless steel blade applicator ($38 without graving, $48 with graving) with pre-filled lipstick color of your choice ($10). These are sold separately so remember to check out with both.

Mine came with engraved TheFabZilla, a great memento for the blog ha? It’s quite hefty but the design itself is unique in all aspects. It is flat so it fits even a tight pocket or small wallet. You can also reuse it as neckpiece or keychain (accessories are separately sold on the shop).

So how do you refill the color when you run out, granting you do (I rarely finish a tube as I have a gamut, lipstick junkie here!)? Simply reorder Just the Color cartridge ($10) and home refill station ($6). Refilling looks quite easy, you can find the instructional video here. At the moment, the shop offers five shades inspired by great women in our history: Joan (true red), Julie (pink), Amelia (nude),  Josephine (veil pink), Tamar (berry). I believe I received Josephine, it’s pink with pearl sheen finish. It applies soft and hydrates like a lip balm.

Given the novelty of this lipstick, it can be a great present to fellow lipstick junkies or as personalized keepsake for special events (wedding, graduation, baby shower, etc).

What a unique look to that lippie! I love the personalization. I also like the flat shape as I often like to carry a lipstick in my back pocket. There used to be a brand that had a refillable bullet, but I can't remember which it was.
