Officially my first holiday beauty splurge this year. If you’re a long time subscriber of TheFabZilla, you know that I am an absolute fan of Guerlain so when I spotted the Meteorites Flocons Enchantes a.k.a Light-enhancing Powder for Face and Décolleté online ($80, 1 oz, Sephora/Bergdorf Goodman), I did not suppress the nagging urge to cave in. Christmas in October, yay!

Part of the Winter Fairy Tale Collection and inspired by the Christmas bauble, the iconic meteorites were given a holiday facelift, seriously aren’t those stars over-the-top adorable? Composed of ivory, beige, champagne and gold, these pearls illuminate the face sans tacky glitter factor. Yes they glisten but the particles are too minute to turn your face into a disco ball, of course when done right.

As with other Guerlain meteorites, this limited edition holiday release includes a powder puff which I don’t really use (I like powder brush for wider distribution and even application). It bears the signature violet fragrance which adds to the overall luxe-feel of the product. There’s also a mirror when you flip the cover, you can tell Guerlain did not scrimp on extras.

I use these meteorites as finishing touch when I’m in the mood for subtle luminosity or in days I’m channeling old Hollywood glam, look what you feel is my mantra zillas. Feel fab, look fab. I swirl the powder brush over the meteorites and dust all over my face. Easy peasy.

Along with this purchase is another Guerlain Holiday Limited Edition beauty, can you guess which one? stay tuned!

The packaging is everything! I've never actually bought the Meteorites, ever – possibly because I know I'll only stare at them and never dip a brush.
