When it comes to cream eyeshadows, I have the softest spot for Tom Ford so when I spotted the latest holiday release, I did not hesitate to get my hands on it pronto.

Night Sky ($66, Nordstrom/Neiman Marcus) is a double-decker stunner composed of metallic navy blue cream and matte blackened blue powder shadow with holographic shimmers (pink, silver, blue). The quality of Tom Ford cream shadow is second to none, primarily the very reason I gravitate to it every chance I get (check out my reviews of limited edition color for eyes and naked bronze).

The metallic cream can be used alone, as base for the powder shadow, or eyeliner if you will. It’s soft, smooth, applies and blends like a dream.

The powder eye shadow feels a tad gritty and can be worn either dry or wet. The attractive shimmers apply without fallout. It has a built-in mirror which always come in handy for the makeup-obssessed lady.

Night Sky is a great evening makeup. Paired with dewy skin and/or nude lips, it elevates sexiness to a whole new level. It’s easy to get carried away with the creaminess of it all so start light and build as you wish. For daytime, I like to use it as eyeliner along the upper lash line.

For my eye makeup below, I layered the powder over cream shadow. A lot of blending went with it to make it as smoked out as possible. I lined my waterline with Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil Parisian Night (swatch here) and finished with two coats of Lancome Hypnose Mascara.
