I like variety, fitness-wise. I can’t stick to one routine because it gets boring eventually. Boredom= demotivation. As some of you probably know, I alternate hiphop dance, yoga, treadmill, and hula hoop on weekends while I bike or walk 4 times on weekdays. You bet I take staying in tiptop shape seriously. Aging won’t slow me down, inactivity will.
Add jump rope to my routine. As a kid back in the day, I had fun playing jump rope with friends. But between reliving my childhood and committing to active lifestyle now, it’s great to burn calories with good ‘ol jump rope!
Jump rope is a great calorie-burner and cardio workout. Plus it’s pretty affordable, lightweight and portable to carry around. TKO, a brand known for its boxing equipment, has evolved into health and fitness equipment, accessory and apparel-lifestyle products. Jump rope is one of them. Sold at Macy’s and major sports retailers nationwide ($30, currently on sale for $21.99), this killabeast comes in three colors. I received blue, which in terms of function and property, doesn’t really matter. I don’t know about you but will pink or teal make my jumping faster? smile, we need humor to thrive! Other pros: comfortable secure grip and solid vinyl rope which makes it easy (and fast) to jump. Now if you haven’t jumped rope in years, keep it slow until you get the hang of it. Because tripping…ain’t fab.
do you like jump rope too?
I actually do like to jump rope, twinsy! Mixing things up is so important!
I need to get a jump rope to keep for days when I can't run outside and to mix it up. Great idea. But I have piriformis syndrome and a not so great right hamstring so I hope I can still jump. Worth a try at any rate
I love jumping rope! Great way to burn calories!
I can't jump rope without killing myself, or injuring wild life 🙂 I try but it doesn't work for me heheh. I know they say it is an amazing workout though!
I have this same jump rope in gray! I love it, it's so lightweight and the length is adjustable. I jump 3-4 times a week whenever I feel like it 🙂
I've not jumped rope in years!
So I bought a jump rope and I was like "Let's do this." but I'm a little fluffy and so jumping rope isn't as easy as I remember.
I used to loooove skipping and have picked up a jump rope a few times, I just never seem to have room anywhere to use it hahaha and feel so awkward doing it outside in front of the world 😉
I love jumping rope for fitness. It is great to use the rope for stretches too.
I can't even think of the last time I jumped rope. Definitely fun though
I probably haven't jump roped in 10 years lol It's great for getting your pumping though!
I used to love jumping rope but my knees couldn't take it anymore. sigh
We love to jump rope in our family – it is a little hard on my ankles after my class 3 sprain several years ago, but we make it happen 😀
I never could jump rope but my husband KILLS it.
I haven't jumped rope in so long – I used to be a pro at it!
I totally need to start jumping rope!
Now I have jump rope rhymes going through my head. My boobs are too big for jump rope. Any exercise that finish with me, unconscious on the ground is not all that beneficial. 😉 lol
I haven't jumped rope in forever, but I always loved it as a kid.
I haven't jumped rope in YEARS!
No jumping on these old knees, but it is great cardio!
I used to LOVE jumping rope! The one you have looks really nice, and I love the blue.
I always hear such great things about jumping rope for health. I need to get back into that!
I agree. Mixing it up is important! I like to jog on my elliptical, though, and just got ankle weights to make it different every other day.
