We’re few days away from summer, my least favorite season. I can’t get past the extreme humidity and relentless heat wave so if I’m bitchin’ for no apparent reason, blame the climate not moi, haha! So how do you look your best if you’re sweating like a pig? scroll down for zilla’s suggestions.

{1} Amp up skincare. Summer or not, sun protection should be in your vocabulary already. The important thing with sunscreen is reapplication, ideally every two hours to ensure continuous protection. More than sunburn, think about the long-term damaging effects of sun exposure (I talked about melanoma and early warning signs here). Hydration is also imperative as sun and heat zap out water from the skin. I prefer multi-tasking products (sunscreen and moisturizer in one) to save me time and money! For a quick facial treat, I use masks twice a week. Aloe-based mask is good for sunburn and hydration. Clay-based mask helps detoxify clogged pores, a consequence of excessive oil production.

{2} Cover less. If you can get away without makeup, I say raise the roof! For us imperfect beauties, ditch thick foundations and opt for lesser coverage. Powder, BB or CC cream, tinted moisturizer, the thinner the better. The more-multi-tasking, twice better.

{3} Go bronzed or pinched. Choose either or. Some women look hella good as bronze goddess (I shared 3 trick here), some as summer sweetheart. Leave contouring and highlighting for special occasions or summer night parties. Less is more when battling heat and sweat.

{4} Go water and sweat-proof. For everyday out and about errands-slash-activities, I don’t wear layers upon layers of eye makeup. But I do love me some colorful eyeliner paired with neutral eyeshadow. Needless to say, I prefer mascara that won’t melt under the heat, eyeshadow that won’t budge when splashed with water and eyeliner that won’t stain lids when mixed with sweat. Not a tall order.

{5} Pucker up. Paint your lips bright or neutral and own the sweat girl. If push comes to shove, use your lips to conquer the irritation of humidity. Fabulous looking lips will amp up any dull lackluster skin and add flair to good ol’ messy bun. Trust me, I live in lippies.
