While standing side by side with the hubs not too long ago, I quickly noticed my pale-looking gams compared to his. I definitely need some color! Call it perfect timing because I had the chance to try some goodies from Cocoa Brown, the #1 faux tanning brand in Ireland and UK which recently debuted in the US market via Ricky’s in NYC, Miami and online.
In a nutshell, Lovely Legs ($13.99, 75ml) is a woman’s quick solution to sexy bronzed legs year-round, particularly in the summer. Like makeup, it hides imperfections and renders a sun-kissed finish that looks ever so natural. And yes, just like makeup, this faux tanner washes off instantaneously with soapy water. It comes in a spray bottle which in principle needs to be paired with a tanning mitt (sold separately) for flawless application. It has a very pleasing floral fragrance which dissipates after few minutes. Just so you know, it dries quickly so you need a fast hand when applying (I do it in sections, front and back leg, in downward strokes).
I’m sure you know that exfoliation is essential for a streak-free and even tan. The grainier the exfoliant, the better, at least from my experience. Alternately, you can also use scrubbing mitt or loofah, whatever works for you! Tough Stuff by Cocoa Brown ($9.99, 75ml) can be used on wet or dry skin. It’s a tad runny so I prefer the latter method for deeper exfoliation. I pay extra attention to my knees and ankles because dry areas tend to absorb more color. Uneven tan, un-fabulous.
Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip Oil-Free Body Moisturizer can be used pre or post tanning. It’s a tinted lotion which provides superior hydration, whether you’re tanning or not.
Overall, I’m more than happy to have been introduced to Cocoa Brown! The products are surprisingly affordable given their praise-worthy quality. Got Ricky’s near you? I say go check it out zillas.
Are you into faux tanning? What’s your go-to brand?
I love how natural the color is– you would never know that you were wearing a faux tanner!
Nice!!! I don't have a Ricky's near me, tho.
The Chocolate Whip moisturiser sounds delish! I love that the tan washes off with water; can't stand residual colour because what if you change your mind? You have great legs!
Hmmm, I don't faux tan, but now you've got me wondering whether it would help to disguise all the sun damage I've got on my legs?
That looks so natural! My legs are going to stay pale for the imminent future but I might look into that chocolate whip for my arms and chest/shoulders!!!
rawrrrr momma! Those sunglasses look killer too!
Oh nice! I have extremely pale legs as compared to my overall complexion, so I can use all the self-tanning products possible! <3
I have the whitest legs ever but self tanning just doesn't look natural on me. I love seeing products that work so well but it's not for me.
Girl, you have great legs! I have a wedding to go to this weekend and I'm thinking about my faux tanning game.
That does look very natural! With your legs, everyone will be looking at you no matter if they are pale or not.
Your legs look amazing!
I wish I had a Ricky's closer!
That looks so natural! I don't do the tan thing (#teampale) but If I did, I'd totally try this.
The color looks so natural. 🙂 I haven't heard of this brand before and my legs are always pale after winter.
