No one wakes up with perfect hair, I bet you not even J Lo and the Kardashians combined. If not for #teamglam they’d be roaming the streets with dry, frizzy and tangled hair like us. While I can hide bad hair days with a barrette bun (see video-torial here), some days I want to channel a diva-kinda aura. So how about some loose beach waves today? come get ready with me!

To create loose waves, I recommend using 1 or 1.5-inch barrel curler. Part your hair then work in sections. You can use clips but I prefer to tie because I am working on hugggeee hair. Curl hair away from your face starting from crown to tip. This will give you relaxed, beachy-kind waves. Run fingers through curls to loosen. Optional step: apply styling treatment whilst scrunching hair up.

As you’ve seen from the video, I have monstrous color-treated hair. Yes I do love it but it does require serious maintenance. I don’t wash it daily to preserve the color and prevent excessive dryness. I’d say on average, it’s between 2-3 days depending on my activity. In lieu, I rely on dry shampoo and argan oil to give my hair extra boost and shine. Recently I had the opportunity to try Perfect Hair Day Night Cap Overnight Perfector by Living Proof. It’s supposed to give hair volume and vibrance as we sleep. But you know me, I find ways to maximize a product so while I do like the concept of using it before bedtime, I also utilize it in the morning for pre-styling. I’m all about scents so I’m happy to report that it smells divine. And yes, my hair feels light and bouncy so this beauty is definitely a keeper!

If you use styling tools on a regular basis, it’s paramount to give your hair extra TLC. 5-in-1 Styling Treatment smooths, volumizes, conditions, and strengthens hair. You can use it on damp or dry hair. Prime Style Extender  as the name implies extends your hairstyle. I use these two interchangeably and get the same outstanding results. Plus they don’t dry out my hair, guaranteed!

I believe this company was started by some PhDs from MIT, in my neck o' the woods. I've heard really good things about the products for color-treated hair. Gotta try 'em some day. I just got my hair cut yesterday, but seeing your pretty waves makes me long for long hair 😉

I would love to try the Night Cap – the hair mask is amazing, and the 5-1 treatment works so well on my hair. I actually used both the last time I washed, and truly did have a perfect hair day.

I just tried the styling treatment and it's fabulous! Normally anything post-wash greases my hair up but this is light and non-greasy. LOVE your waves!
