Since reviewing By Terry Baume de Rose set, I’m on a self-induced mission to further explore this cult favorite. Newly-launched Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream caught my attention multifold; curious? scroll down for more deets, swatch, plus before and after photos.
First a ‘lil backgrounder so you and I are on the same page. Truth is, I haven’t had luck with CC creams in the past. CC or color-correcting is the sibling of BB (beauty balm), cousin of DD (daily defense) and aunt of EE (even effect). Regardless how marketers position them by adding one ingredient or so and call them to entice the beauty-hungry population, the novelty of it all seemed to have fizzled. TT (treat and tighten), SS (skin savior), what’s next? Claim as much as you want but experience dictates the final verdict right?
So let’s cut to the chase, surprisingly I adore this CC cream! Not holy grail status but remarkable enough to add it to my growing stash of light coverage foundations. It claims to hydrate, perfects skin, renders radiance and makes skin supple. Out of the four shades available, Beige is a close match to my medium skin tone.
For the nth time, I’m showing you my barenaked face, pores and all! Although this is considered as a sheer tinted moisturizer, I like how it corrected my other flaws: redness and dark under eyes. Pore size was also reduced albeit tentatively. Application and blending are seamless. It settles into a velvety finish and turns slightly dewy on the fifth hour. Overall I had decent seven hour wear (sans primer and lightly set with powder). Just so you know, this smells rose, definitely not for everyone’s appreciation but I like it a lot.
I wish it came with SPF, I mean for $86 a tube (40g /1.41 oz) my expectation is through the roof. So what’s my favorite way of wearing this CC cream? I layer it over Murad Invisiblur, a primer, sunscreen and moisturizer in one (reviewed here), then lightly dust with Guerlain Meteorites compact (reviewed here). Currently my trifecta of wonderment.
Here’s the finished look, my 5-minute no-fuss makeup.
Wait, I added bronzer, so let’s make it my six-minute a tad-fancier makeup.

What’s your favorite CC cream?
Looks really nice. That lip color looks fantastic on you. I know it is not a popular stance but I do not like nor want sunscreen in my makeup.
I love that you broke down what all of the initials stand for. When they started using them I got so confused. You're skin looks great.
Ooh that cost but if it works, it's worth it! I do love the rose scent though so it may be worth checking out!
This looks good! I can definitely see a difference.
I love the no fuss, and the coverage looks great on you!!! It's definitely a luxury at $86, but sometimes a girl's gotta splurge 🙂
This is a winner! Looks great on you. And that lippie. Perfection. I love both the Cover FX CC Cream and the one from It Cosmetics.
That's a hefty price tag for no SPF, I agree!
This looks gorgeous on you and it's just the kind of thing I like, lightweight, evens skin tone and wears gracefully all day and no chemical sunscreen, But it's a bit spendy.
The finish looks great. It may not be your HG, but it looks and sounds amazing! BTW, I love TF Moroccan Rouge on you!
Favorite CC cream would be IT Cosmetics but right now I can't get enough of the Physician's Formula Argan Oil BB Cream. Your finished look is lovely!
You look great with it on! The Cover FX CC Cream is my all time favorite. Before that, I really loved Holika Holika's Orange BB Cream, but the asian ones are typically so much better than the American ones.
It looks beautiful on you! The rose scent is so appealing to me. But for $86, it would have to have SPF for me to buy it. I'm a big fan of IT Cosmetics CC Cream because it has SPF 50 and it is almost complete coverage on me, and it suits my dry skin.
I love everything from by Terry. This CC cream sounds divine! But I would definitely expect it to have SPF.
The coverage is perfect for you. I have stood drooling at by Terry counters often!
For $86 it better apply itself and give me a full body massage too!
You look fabulous. I don't see makeup. I just see beautiful, healthy and radiant skin. Even though it is on the pricey side, I'm going to try it out.

omg how beautiful! Your skin is glowing!
It really makes your skin glow from the inside!
Oouch at the price, but the finish looks perfect on you.
I want totry this for the scent alone!
Not that your skin is bad before…but wow, it made your skin flawless.
