Tom Ford Lips and Boys, Review, Swatch, Pavlos, Gustavo, Wes, Men are from Mars

Collect boys but settle for a man; for boys are cute and ephemeral while a real man is dapper and perpetual. I mean it literally and figuratively. Intrigued? let’s brainstorm further.

Inspired by the boys in Tom Ford’s life, this limited edition collection features 50 petite-size lipsticks ($32, 0.7 oz/ 2.0g), 15 of which are re-promote as mentioned by my friend and fellow beauty blogger-slash-Tom-Ford-fanatic, Helen from Lola’s Beauty Secret (she swatched all shades!). I pre-ordered three during the holidays and were shipped one after the other. Finally, my boys are complete so I am more than ready to present ’em in all gallantry.

Yes these boys are button-cute, size-wise. Here they are standing side by side with some of my Tom Ford “men”.

They are so cute that subliminally I’m compelled to collect against my will. They make me weak to my knees like kryptonite, ugh! Consistent with the permanent Lip Color line, they are elegantly-housed in dark brown lacquer case with gold embellishment. They are immensely pigmented and ultra-creamy. Wear time is relative, meaning they stay long enough ’til your next meal with minimal fading.

For a limited time, you get a free lipstick case when you buy three “boys”

Be honest with me. Before meeting your Man, you dated and kissed Boys. Rebel, dirty, cute…just the typical boyfriend material! For our entertainment, let’s personify my Tom Ford “boys”.

Meet Wes, it’s berry wine with tiny specks of shimmer invisible to the naked eye. He’s the star basketball player, the apple of everyone’s eyes. Playboy, kinda.

Meet Gustavo, it’s creamy brown which compliments my complexion and dyed caramel blonde hair. He’s street-smart and a go-getter but not quite ready for a commitment.

Finally there’s Pavlos, it’s wine brown which is universally appealing. He paints and sings, totally artistic… he’s not that into you ‘tho.

Relatable or not, the point of the matter is… boys will be boys. You can’t force a boy to be a man, only time will tell, only experience will dictate. Not a nagging woman for sure. And just like these Tom Ford “boys”, they’re good for a limited time so if you have extra money to spend, they’re fun to collect and add to your designer stash. As my grandma puts it “when it comes to boys, collect and collect then select.

Grandma was right after all. I thought I can change a boy to be a man. One was a playboy, the other a mama’s boy, and another who ditched me because in his own words, “I was way too smart for him”. Oh well, in your face froglets… because looking fabulous is the greatest revenge, haha! On a positive note, I give major props to the one and only MAN in my life now, my soul mate who understand my lipstick obsession, compliment my smarts, support my goals, and share my fascination for zombies, ugh! You can’t get any manly with a name like Donnie (he only appears on my personal Facebook).

So much to say, so little time. Here are Pavlos, Gustavo and Wes on my lips.
