Of course I don’t need new lipsticks! That’s me hallucinating, haha! Reality check, yes I don’t need ’em but want ’em. See it’s neck-to-neck…the battle of the grandest packaging, the most value for money, best pigmentation. So many choices, not much moolah. Marketing solution? give them the minis!
Mini lipsticks a.k.a travel or deluxe-sizes are the best way to sample a new brand or formula. And let’s get real zilla, have you ever finished a tube before it expires (usually two years)? I don’t so that’s money down the drain for ‘ya. So without further adieu, here’s my curated list of must-try’s:
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick Set ($39, a $126 value). Despite reading mixed reviews (bold yet super drying on lips), I am still intrigued to try this set which features nine mini-lipsticks. I am most excited to try Motorhead (matte black cherry), Sexer (fluorescent pink) and Wonderchilde (neon lilac). This old woman is still high on out-of-this-shade no?
Too Faced Melted Kisses ($25, a 40$ value). These lippies have gotten mostly rave reviews and I’m so embarassed to admit that I haven’t tried anything, like ever! A holiday limited edition, this set has 4 shades you and I can rock year-round: nude, berry, peony, hot pink.
Buxom Lip Gloss Roulette ($59, a $135 value). Truth: sting and shine create an illusion of fuller lips. This set includes 15 shades which suit Jane’s every mood. I have tried this lippy before and if the formula has not changed, I’m quick to tell you that it does sting but not as bad (or worse) as Duwop Lip Venom.
Urban Decay Full Frontal Lipstick Stash Set ($39). Before your green mind takes you elsewhere, this set features six teeny weeny Revolution lipsticks and a full-size 24/7 Glide on lip pencil. I own two of the shades featured and they’re both phenomenal (Liar, pinky nude and F bomb, classic red).
Fresh Sugar Cravings Kissing Trio ($28, a $34 value). I have tried a gamut of lip balms but Fresh Sugar continue to be my uber favorite because they are very hydrating, plus they are tinted and have SPF 15!
What about you? what’s on your radar?
