Reviva High Potency Elastin Serum (Review)

Reviva High Potency Elastin Serum, Review

I’m a staunch believer of “prevention is better than cure”. While I’m no way a poster child for all things fitness, I really do take care of myself by engaging in a healthy and active lifestyle. In case sickness strikes, I have but natural forces to blame. I mean, nobody’s invincible but at least I tried!

I treat wrinkles with the same attitude. If I can delay the occurrence, why not?! While I still experience breakouts here and there, my main concerns at this stage happen to be pore size and maturing skin. You know the equation well, where A=B. In my case A= aging B= unknown, in reference to the ultimate fountain of youth.

I had the chance to try another product from Reviva Labs, the high potency Elastin Serum (1 oz, $27). As if I haven’t stressed it enough, I’m big on serums. I have tried so many that I know exactly what my face wants. Plump, supple, smooth, what more can I ask for? Oh youth where art thou? haha!

Ingredients: Demineralized Water, Elastin, Polysorbate 20, Hawaiian Seaweed Extract, Glycerine(veg.), Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate.

Reviva High Potency Elastin Serum, Review

Good for neck, nice as a primer! As you can see from the photo, this serum is more on the liquid side. Applied on clean face, I noticed slight lathering which dissipates upon absorption. Not that I see the microscopic action but you get what I mean right? It dries quickly, leaving my face feeling smooth like a baby’s butt. While it didn’t give me the plump I was hoping for, I was pleasantly surprised that I can use this serum in lieu of a regular face primer. Without additional reinforcement (setting powder, setting spray), my makeup lasted eight hours with minimal fading. Do you pay special attention to your neck? I do because more than wrinkles or crow’s feet, turkey neck gives me the ultimate creep!!! Needless to say, neck reveals our true age. It’s the traitor your mother didn’t warn you about. Reviva Labs claims that this serum is good for the neck so I’m using it religiously for that purpose. Because you know, prevention is better than cure!

Have you tried this serum?… and remember, give your neck serious TLC. I’m serious.

I really liked this one when I used it. I just think they need to update their packaging. Is that weird that I think that?

I use it on the backs of my hands and under my eyes. I've noticed my under eye area is certainly brighter (I've been using it nightly for 2 months), and it has definitely made a difference! With the Citric Acid I'm hesitant to use it on my trouble (re: allergic) areas, but so far it's working well for what I'm doing!

I am test driving this serum now. And I was taught from my teens to not neglect my neck. In spite of all of the good stuff I slather on it, time is marching across it. *sigh*

I love a great primer but this sounds even better as it is a serum too. I think once I am at the end of my pregnancy I'll start experimenting with serums.
