Regardless of the season, there’s something I can’t, won’t and will never skip when it comes to skincare: Sunscreen. Premature wrinkles, age spots, and our worst nightmare, melanoma are all caused by harmful UV rays emitted by the mighty sun.

Given my busy routine, I rely on multi-tasking products to make things easier and faster, especially in the morning when I’m crunched for time. So I had the chance to try Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 ($65, 1.7 fl oz/ 50ml).  Will it be a great addition to my arsenal? keep reading mah ladies!

In addition, another important aspect of my daily skincare regimen is hydration. Whether you have dry, oily or aging skin, moisturization keeps the skin looking supple and youthful. Wouldn’t it be nice to have both sun protection and moisturizer in one product? Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery offers the logical solution!

The nitty gritty. I like that this comes in a pump dispenser-type bottle, talk about ease and asepsis! I smell a hint of herbal scent which dissipates after few minutes. It feels light on the skin and gets absorbed pretty fast, not that I have microscopic prowess to look beyond my epidermis, haha! But seriously though, I like to use this in combination with Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Boost Serum to give my oily yet maturing skin the moisture it needs. It does not enhance the greasiness nor eradicate it like magic. For someone who loves the outdoors, I like that it has SPF 50! Furthermore, it is paraben-free and devoid of artificial colors and fragrance.

While dimethicone is generally safe and in fact used in a lot of cosmetic products, some people do break out because it can also trap the impurities so that’s something you should consider. But other than that, if you’re looking for a moisturizer which offers excellent sun protection, Dynamic Skin Recovery is worth checking out.
