Living in the tropics, you can correctly assume that sandals dominate my shoe collection. When I feel like adding few inches to my petite stature, I wear wedges. But in most days though, I prefer flat sandals that expose my toes and ankles. Comfort before anything else babe!
This leads me to my next point, my precious feet need to look just as fabulous! Overkill, vain, OC, call me whatever you want but I seriously dread cracked soles. So whether you’re prepping up for summer or just want to be sandal-ready anytime, here are ways to keep your feet in tiptop shape.
1. Exfoliate to slough off dead skin cells.
If you prefer simple DIY, mix olive oil and brown sugar to create a moisturizing foot scrub. Here’s a tutorial if you’re interested.
Now if you want spa-quality pedi at home, Emjoi Micro-Pedi Nano ($24.95) maybe your answer. I received one to try out. In a nutshell, it’s a sleek, compact home pedicure tool that painlessly removes dead skin cells and calluses. It has a micro-mineral roller that spins 30 times a second that pulverize rough skin. I was honestly surprised with the amount of flecks this tool generated, considering that I take care of my feet on a regular basis!

It requires two AA batteries. Very easy to use and ideal for travel too! |
Here’s a before and after photo of my feet. It’s not rocket science but offhand, you can tell that “after” looks obviously smoother.
2. Moisturize with cream. Make it habit to moisturize your feet after shower and before you call it a night to prevent dry cracked soles. Do this religiously and your feet will thank you.
3. Paint your toes bright! Call me partial but whenever I see a woman with great-looking pedi, I immediately think that she does take care of herself. It’s the little things, mind you. If you’re like me who prefers DIY, just soak your feet in warm water for five minutes, towel-try, remove old nail polish, cut and/or file nail, then paint to your heart’s desire!
4. Have fun with sandals. Bling, thong, leather, rubber, jelly, they all come in gazillion styles and colors. Remember, happy feet, happy life!
How do you take care of your feet?

I've been trying to slather my feet in lotion and body oils and it seems like that's been helping counteract the weather changes that have been wrecking my feet!
great to know you take care of your feet Mai!
Sounds like a great product. I am thinking about purchasing something similar and I think I should finally get one.
I usually use foot scrub and moisturise my feet with special cream.
once a week it's nice to exfoliate w/ extra power so all those dead skin cells are radically removed 🙂
I have heard such great things about emjoi… I have been doing okay with my feet considering I am a slipper lover and I have dry skin… but this looks super cool. Love your sandals
thanks mama!
Your feet weren't bad before. I've seen feet that could really use this product. Your feet look good. Great review.
hahaha. I know feet that could really use this product too, I don't want to even imagine right now coz I just had dinner.
I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've looked at feet within a blog post and not cringed. That tells me I need to buy everything you're pimping here. Also, I'm convinced we need to be roommates because I want your shoes.
hahaha. you made me laugh so bad! quick story, back when i was in college doing an outreach program, one creepy guy was just staring at my feet the whole time, that's why my classmates were teasing me about my pink feet :-))) Move to HI Brooke!!!!
I like the looks of that Emjoi! My feet always get dry once sandal season comes around!

I want that Emjoi so bad!

I'm getting a gel pedicure tomorrow because i will be heading to the USA next week. That means transitioning from Australian autumn feet to US spring feet!
Bon voyage!!! USA is ready for your Australian feet!!!
Oh, this is way less expensive than I expected it to be. I'm going to try this!
i was surprised myself too
I love a good pedi! I am barefoot or in sandals a lot, too. Does this machine feel good, like a massage? or does it hurt a little?
it didn't hurt at all, a little ticklish….
I need to get that gadget! I am still using my trusty Ped Egg to slough away dry, rough winter skin.
Oh I have that ped egg too!!
Yes your feet certainly look smoother!!!!
I need to get my hands on this one.
You had great feet to begin with
That looks like a nice little tool, and the price point is perfect. Your feet look great!
Something is wonky with your site. It won't show my comments so I apologize if my comment shows 3 times but yea. I do my feet religiously in the summer months. Winter I'm so so.
