I won’t deny that this whole blogging thingimajig expanded my beauty arsenal like I’m running a hole in the wall store. Our bathroom alone has all sorts of skincare and bath products that will probably last me over a year, #noshame

This leads me to my next point; the way I wash my face varies from time to time depending on the product(s) I try. Cleansing brush, cream facial wash, clear facial wash, face foam, konjac sponge, exfoliant, the list goes on #fact

For today’s post, let me introduce you to Beautisol Exscrub Me? Citrus Face Exfoliant ($17, 2 fl oz/ 60ml).

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Polyethylene (Beads), Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Jojoba Esters (Beads), Behenyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Dicaprylyl Ether, Glyceryl Stearate, Sucrose Stearate, Xanthan Gum, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Squalane, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Peel Oil, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Citric Acid, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Potassium Sorbate, Carbomer, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Tocotrienols, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Phytic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Alcohol, Tocopherol (D-alpha), Passiflora Incarnata (Passionflower) Flower Extract *Certified Organic

In a nutshell, Exscrub Me? is an exfoliant with micro-beads that help slough off dead skin cells. Just so you know, I exfoliate only twice a week because doing it excessively does more damage to our skin, i.e redness, irritation, dryness.

Unlike other exfoliants I have tried, Exscrub Me?’s beads are dense and quite abrasive so if you have sensitive skin, you have to be very careful scrubbing your face. A pea-size amount is good enough for my face. I usually pay attention around my nose where I have whiteheads the most. I like the citrusy scent and the overall feel of my face after rinsing: taut, smooth and refreshingly clean!

If you’re into #faceexfoliant , Beautisol is running a Buy One, Get One with coupon code BOGO2014 (valid until June 31, 2014).

What’s your favorite exfoliant?

I have super duper sensitive skin and I have this product but haven't tried it yet because when I tested on my hand… it did feel a little more abrasive than I would have liked. I will have to take it in stride. I love the scent of it though and am gonna try in little areas of my face 😉

yeah, try it first because the beads are on the rougher side

  2. April 22, 2014 / 9:10 am

Sounds like something for me 😀

  3. April 22, 2014 / 9:34 am

This is the cutest scrub I have ever seen Kath! Such cute pink scrubs!

  4. April 22, 2014 / 9:51 am

This peaked my interested until I saw the very obvious microbeads. I refuse to purchase products with poly-beads anymore.

  5. April 22, 2014 / 12:46 pm

    I love love this scrub!!!

  6. April 22, 2014 / 2:26 pm

This sounds lovely, and the scent too! I may have to pass because of my super sensitive skin. My rosacea and eczema are in a good place I don't want to rock the boat!

Ooohhh this sounds amazing. I am with you on the exfoliating 2 times a week, I used to do more and irritated my skin. 🙁 This product sounds great and I can totally see it being a great addition with a konjac sponge for sure!!! Great post!

You're into skincare so I'm happy to know you use konjac sponge too 🙂

I got this scrub as well, and while I enjoy the microdermabrasion-like effect, I wonder if it will need to be reformulated due to the recent bans on plastic microbeads.

  9. April 22, 2014 / 3:23 pm

I can't use anything with microbeads in them, and now that they are starting to get banned in places I don't see myself trying them.

  10. April 22, 2014 / 4:27 pm

I've been using this and I agree, might be a little much for sensitive skin. I have really been liking it.

  11. April 22, 2014 / 4:50 pm

    It's definitely a strong exfoliant!

  12. April 22, 2014 / 5:59 pm

Oooh I love a good exfoliant! I think having an excess of products to use/test is one of the perks of the trade.. =)

  13. April 22, 2014 / 6:31 pm

I use the St. Ives Apricot scrub. It gets down and gets scrub-a-licious with my skin and the exfoliant is natural rather than plastic beads. 🙂

  14. April 22, 2014 / 7:08 pm

I use Ahava and Kate Sommerville, strong exfoliants sometimes leave my skin very dried up 🙁

  15. April 22, 2014 / 7:09 pm

I use Ahava and Kate Sommerville and am very happy with it, strong exfoliants dry me up too much 🙁

  16. April 22, 2014 / 8:46 pm

I'm all about scrubs!!! I am wary of the strong exfoliant. I've never used anything abrasive on my skin, so I wonder if this would be good.

  17. April 22, 2014 / 9:59 pm

I love anything citrus, and exfoliators, too. Those beads look huge! I wonder if they are the kind that are slowly being eliminated with the whole micro-plastics ban.

  18. April 23, 2014 / 12:05 am

    I love a good citrus-scented scrub!

  19. April 23, 2014 / 12:29 am

I love citrus scents. I am not sure about the abrasiveness of the formula though.

  20. April 23, 2014 / 12:59 am

Bummer about the polyethylene… looks like they're gonna have to switch it up if the MBFWA passes!

  21. April 23, 2014 / 3:12 am

I love Murad AHA/BHA scrub–the beads are really small but it gets the job done gently.

  22. April 24, 2014 / 1:57 am

Excrub Me is the cutest name like ever.

  23. April 25, 2014 / 12:28 pm

My favorite exfoliator is Dermae's Microdermabrasion scrub!
