No.1 Pet peeve: Browzilla. Meaning, totally neglected and shapeless eyebrows. I can understand some stray hairs here and there because who has the time to pluck every so often, I seriously don’t. Between coated lashes and groomed brows, you bet I can’t go out with my eyebrows grossly uneven and sparse like these *facepalm*

So I will pretend that you didn’t see me at all with undone brows. Can we try a quickie experiment this time? By simply fixing my eyebrows and keeping the rest unaltered, do you agree that brows really frame a woman’s face? It’s like getting an instant facelift.

Now that you’ve witnessed both storm and sunshine, you can’t blame me if sometimes I get fixated on Browzilla. As the saying goes, brows don’t need to be identical twins, but please treat them like your dear sisters!

So how do I groom my eyebrows then? Right now, I am obsessed with Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in Dark Brown ($18, 4.0g/ 0.14 oz). Consistency-wise, it’s one of the best I have tried. It’s soft, easy to use, sweat-proof, and smudge-free. I don’t need to set it with powder, just line and I’m good to go! I also use it as eyeliner, how’s that for versatility?

So here’s my no-nonsense Quick Eyebrow How-To:

how to fill eyebrows, how to groom eyebrows, sparse eyebrows treatment, review anastasia dip brow pomade, swatch anastasia dip brow pomade dark chololate

1. Prime eyelids, including eyebrows. This will prevent smudging.
2. With an angled brush, outline the top and bottom eyebrows, following the natural shape of your brows.
3. Fill in the direction of hair growth, then against it to cover sparse areas.

Happy Brows, Happy Life.

Great tips! I agree with you, eyebrows really have the power to transform a woman's look.

Thanks Anastasia. Yep, never underestimate the power of brows 🙂

Love the brow tutorial! My brows are the bane of my beauty routine. They just don't grow anymore, and I always have a brow-lick on my right one. Ugh. I like the 2 step (powder and waterproof gel) kit from Anastasia or the brow pencils from IT Cosmetics. I need to try this pomade. It looks like it would be easier than the 2 step routine! 🙂

I think you'll like this because you don't need to set it w/ powder, at least that's how it is for me.

my brows… let's not go there. i've yet to master any semblance of them looking decent.

    • February 8, 2014 / 6:42 am

Hi Destany, it's never too late to master the art of brows 🙂

If I'm really REALLY short on time I can leave the house with just concealer and brows. But yeah, the brows are a must. I've been using Benefit's Gimme Brow and I like it quite a bit for a natural no-fuss look, but while it's good I'm not sure it's quite Holy Grail status for me. I might give this a try when I'm done with that tube.

I totally agree w/ you on brows are a must! Let me know how this Anastasia pomade works for you once you've tried it. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm horrible about doing my brows before I leave for work in the morning! I use MAC Penultimate when I remember to though

    • February 8, 2014 / 6:44 pm

Trust me, sometimes I have bad "brow" day too, especially when I'm rushing in the morning.

I actually looked over this product in Ulta with week. Now I know it is a good, solid product. But then, Anastasia products have never disappointed me. Great brows, love!!!!

    • February 8, 2014 / 6:45 pm

Thanks much Kimberly. I will buy a different shade of this pomade just for variety 🙂

I've been using a lightly tinted brow gel from Senna, which I like. Today, I tried Blinc brow mousse. It was pretty easy to use, and it's very lightly tinted, like the Senna – but, unlike the Senna, it doesn't make my brows crispy. So far, so good!

    • February 8, 2014 / 6:47 pm

I haven't tried Senna, I should look into that after I'm done w/ this Anastasia.

  15. February 8, 2014 / 8:06 pm

i love all of anastasia's products! filling in my brows is like the most important part of my makeup routine

    • February 10, 2014 / 4:21 am

Same here Chrissy, sometimes I spend more time doing my eyebrows than applying eyeshadow!

  16. February 8, 2014 / 8:31 pm

I accidentally waxed off I little too much brow. So mad -_- I love the brow wiz, so I'm sure I would love this, too. I will have to check it out.

    • February 10, 2014 / 4:23 am

Oh no, that's a bummer. But thanks to brow fixers, we can look good like nothing happened.

  17. February 8, 2014 / 11:38 pm

I never thought of grooming my eyebrows before. I do pluck them underneath and in the middle a little bit but i've been trying to pay more attention to them. I recently trimmed the longer hairs to shape a bit more but not sure filling them in is right for me.Your brows look great and really do make a difference when you groom them.

    • February 10, 2014 / 4:25 am

Thanks much! Once you get the hang of filling, it becomes second nature. I pluck a lot, like a lot…. that explains the unevenness. Then of course, aging is another reason that's why they're sparse. So much to blame for, haha!

  18. February 11, 2014 / 12:02 pm

WOW your brows look amazing. I have been on the hunt for some good brow products and need to pick this up for sure.
