I have hit pan on my current holy grail Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Dim Light) so repurchasing it makes sense right? But guess what, I settled for Diffused Light this time; reason being, Ambient claims to be universally flattering regardless of the shade. I’m a Thomas, I have to see to believe it.

Diffused Light ($45, 0.35 oz/ 10g) is described as a soft warm yellow powder that conceals redness and  gives skin clarity. You can tell that it’s a tad lighter than Dim Light but the finish is both identical. For the record, what made me fall for Ambient is the quality of the powder, it’s so finely- milled and doesn’t settle into my pores. It gives my face a soft velvety look, none of that unsightly cakiness! You may or may not have seen my barenaked face which I have featured countless times already. Here’s one example, take a look. I have uneven skin tone, some redness and pores pores pores!

I thought it would be extra nice to show you how makeup transforms moi!

1) You can see that even with foundation, my face still looks lifeless.

2) The secret is in the concealer, see how it brightened my undereyes?

3) I set both concealer and foundation with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Diffused Light).

4) Pop in a lippy and blush, and voila!

Have you tried Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder? I’m convinced, both Diffused Light and Dim Light were compatible with my skin tone!

Diffused and Dim Light were the two full sized Ambient Lighting powders I bought as well, although I seem to favor Dim over Diffused. I'm loving the palette with the 3 smaller pans as well:-)
