$10 Game Changer: CLINIQUE Bottom Lash Mascara (Review, Photos)

Truth be told. I don’t use mascara for my bottom lashes; reason being, I’m one helluva  raccoon by mid-day. Every brand of mascara that I have tried, whether they’re long-wearing or waterproof, was no match to moi. I’ve lost count on oooopsie moments, completely unaware that my undereyes were black-stained while doing major corporate presentations or meeting new clients. That is why I have ceased coating my bottom lashes. In years. No exaggeration.

But see I’m always up for adventure. Still part of my Sephora VIB haul, this $10 Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara was love at first coat. Curious? scroll down to find out more.

I know you had to read again when I said it’s only ten bucks. But don’t be misled; it’s tiny, more like a deluxe size mascara. The wand and bristles are midget too, which only make sense since we are talking of bottom lashes. For comparison, here’s a regular Clinique mascara side by side with bottom lash mascara.

I read your mind. Do you really need to coat your bottom lashes? Is it really that  necessary? From a practical point of view, I say no. I have lived in years without the extra step and I could live another sixty without bothering. But this woman wants to glam it up sometimes. So for better appreciation again, can I show you my lashes for the nth time?

This bottom lash mascara does not promise length but you can tell that my right bottom lashes look more alive. A ‘lil clumpy, unnatural, but definitely more defined. Just how dolls are, you know it’s fake but you still like it nonetheless.

So how did Clinique bottom lash mascara changed my life? *tears rolling down my cheeks, voice stuttering* “No smudges or raccoon moments the whole time I was wearing it. It is a huge deal for me because I have oily face and given my previous melodramatic experience with regular mascaras, I  think I have found my new holy grail for bottom lashes!”

{Believe everything except the crying spell, haha!}.

From a distance, I present to you my bottom lashes!

I always put on bottom mascara but when I get raccoon-y I stop using that brand! I have been wanting to get a small mascara for bottom lashes. I'm happy to know Clinique has one! I am going to look into this 🙂

Is this product waterproof? I have swim practice at the end of the day and don't want to end up looking like a drowning raccoon!

Hi Jane, it doesn't say anything about being waterproof.

It looks good. I just started applying mascara to my lower lashes…

I'm glad you found the product that works for you! I use Eyeko waterproof mascara on my bottom lashes, it's waterproof, and the wand is curved so I can cover my entire lash row in one swipe.

Oh I haven't tried Eyeko but now that you've mentioned it, I will check that one out. It's always good to have a comparison.

That little mascara is so adorable! I love using smaller or skinnier wands for my bottom lashes.

I like how it looks on you but when I tried it it was a failure. I barely have any lashes so that's why.
