So this bella finally arrived after two weeks in transit. It isn’t normally the case since Sephora ships in three days. Worried, I emailed and called their customer service but only to be told to wait for two more days. Days went by and still no box so I emailed again. Faster than a speeding bullet, I got a response that they’re willing to ship another palette, free of charge. How nice but lo! my package came that same afternoon. Pffft.

I drooled, how. can. you. not?

Housed in a sturdy plastic case with a mirror that holds up, UD Vice 2 palette boasts of 20 brand new and highly-pigmented eyeshadows that are not for the faint of heart. So if you’re the ever- so- Ms. Neutral- gal, this is a huge jump from your comfort zone of dark browns, subtle browns, sheen browns, and matte browns. I say this with a bit of exaggeration but you get what I mean. It also comes with a double-ended Karma eyeshadow brush (crease and flat), take a look!

Now let’s get my arm dirty and do a swatchfest for you.

Smokeout is muted black with semi-matte finish.

Lovesick is matte black with silver specks.

Shellshock is bright metallic silver.

Coax is metallic pink.

X-rated is satin pink

Prank is is navy blue with semi-pearl finish.

Madness is bright metallic blue.

Strike is muted gold with semi-frost finish.

Stash is shimmery olive green.

Poison is dark gray with satin finish.

Radar is metallic brown

Damaged is metallic emerald green

Voodoo is metallic purple

Betrayal is satin purple-blue

Derailed is metallic brown-taupe

Dope is satin champagne

Toxic is metallic copper

Habit is matte flesh

Ambush is metallic brown, similar to Radar

Rewind is matte brown

I read your mind! at $59, is it worth the hype? This time I say yes! Let’s do mental calculation: each eyeshadow costs $2.95 for 0.03 oz of product. The single eyeshadow retails $18 for 0.05 oz. So easily this palette (including the brush) is worth well over $200!

Of course you have a follow-up question. What about the quality? any favorites and misses?

In terms of color pay-off, texture and wear time, my top picks would be Damaged, Voodoo, Rewind, and Shellshock. My least faves would be Lovesick and Poison, they are dry and a bit harder to blend. Habit and X-rated are powdery. Applied over an eye primer, these eyeshadows neither crease nor budge. The best way to intensify the metallic finish is to apply it wet. The eyeshadow brush is a great addition. The bristles are soft, and you can tell that UD didn’t scrimp on it. It maybe trivial to you but I like how the mirror holds up on its own. Hands-free mama! One thing I tell you, no matter how I convince myself to do a neutral look, I just can’t. It’s hard. I surrendered! So imagine moi in scrubs, rocking Vice 2 to work like a true diva, haha!
