Although my experience with Marc Jacobs Beauty 202 The Tease Style Eye-Con No. 7 Plush Eyeshadow Palette left me underwhelmed, I went ahead and bought few more makeups from the designer’s much-hyped collection.
This time, I was drawn to the stylishly chic packaging of Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl ($28, 0.16 oz). I chose 208 Truth or Dare, described as dark berry purple, because I was looking for a plum lipgloss that I can wear for fall and winter.
What the Sephora website says: Satisfy your lip gloss craving with color-drenched, champagne grape-infused lip vinyl. This fully pigmented, plumping formula is infused with antioxidants, essential oils, and a hint of effervescence for a perfect pout with the highest shine. The patented, pillowed applicator glides on the lip vinyl for precise application with a lust-worthy finish.
What my discerning mind says: It’s a lipgloss with superb color pay-off. What you see from the tube is what exactly you’ll get. Rich pigment, high shine, but sans the sticky feel. It has a stiff doe-foot wand which makes application precise and swift.
What my unsealed lips say: It’s minty and it tingles for a few minutes. The shine dissipates after two hours, leaving my lips with a deep berry stain. While the gloss factor is short-lived, I am still happy with the over-all quality of this lippy. It’s a keeper, now we’re talkin’!
What about you? Have you tried anything from Marc Jacobs?
Kathryne
I didn't even look at the lip products since I'm always drawn to eyes first. I do want to check them out in person though.
Hi Marcia, I'm the opposite but I'm like you before. Lately I'm on a lippy hoarding mode, hahaha
Kathryne, this is such a gorgeous color!! I think it looks lovely on you! I haven't tried anything from MJ yet, but I will! 🙂
Many mahalo's. I'm happy you stopped by here. I'll wait for your MJ reviews and impressions.
