Beautysets - 5 Drugstore Products That Feel Like High-End

While it can’t be denied that my affinity to Sephora and department store brands far outweigh the likes of Walmart and Walgreens, there are some drugstore products that I can vouch for in terms of quality! I say this with much gusto, having gone through stacks of drugstore eyeshadow palettes and tubes of lippies in my younger, wanna-have-it-all, rebel-without-a-cause years!

e.l.f Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder ($3) is ideal for the budget conscious makeup enthusiast. Except for the packaging, it’s not A NARS dupe in my opinion but you get decent pigmentation and finish for the cheapo price. I have St. Lucia, it’s a nifty coral blush and light bronze duo that compliments my medium skin tone.

Ecotools Eye Brush Set ($7.99, 6-piece) is a good starter kit for the makeup noob. The bristles are soft which make blending eyeshadows easy peasy.

NYX Matte Lipstick ($6) is creamy and richly pigmented. Available in 20+ shades, you can buy every color that you desire without breaking the bank. I like Euro Trash, it’s a gorgeous nude lippy!

Milani Baked Blush ($7.99) reminds me of Laura Geller baked blush, what with the swirls and melange of delectable colors! It’s a bit shimmery so applying it light-handedly is advised, especially if you have obvious pores like me.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Collection Eyeshadow Trio ($3) is a no-brainer choice for good quality yet affordable eye makeups. You can tell I’m a fan because I even depotted my WnW palettes (check out my DIY Z-palette here).

Now do your math. Who said you can’t build your makeup collection for less than 30 bucks and feel high-end?

Have you tried any of the above-mentioned brands?
