Well hello there gorgeous! When was the last time you told yourself that? Can you stop reading for a second and face the mirror? Okay say that one more time, Hello Gorgeous!
Now that you’re feeling the vibe, let me introduce you to Alima Pure, a makeup company that embodies natural beauty inside out. Made from the purest cosmetic-grade mineral pigments, Alima Pure is devoid of additives, fillers and fragrance that can potentially irritate the skin. I was sent some products to try so if you are curious to know more about this brand, read further.
Alima Pure was derived from the sufi word Al Alim which means that divine wisdom encompasses even the smallest things. That philosophy echoes even in the packaging, take a look!
Each box has a unique life quote, a.k.a beauty tip. Trivial as it is to some but I give props to companies who pay attention to the minutest of things. I adore those birds on the jars! Unknown to most of you, my makeup room/home office is always greeted with myna birds’ melodic chirping each day (they made our cypress trees their home).
Let’s start with the Satin Matte Foundation ($25, .24 oz/7.5g). After testing out different shades, I was matched with Olive 2.
So I have been wearing less makeups, no thanks to the super humid weather but big thanks to my skin that has been behaving nicely the last weeks. This powder foundation has light to medium coverage. Applied, blended and buffed over a face primer, I had a decent six- hour wearability. You can see from the photos that it evened out my complexion. I like that you can open and close the sifter, it saves me from a whole lot of mess, especially when traveling.
If you are in a quandary as to picking the right shade for your skin tone, Alima Pure can help you with its foundation selector tool. With 61 shades to boot, there is THE one that will definitely match yours. I was sent a sample kit to try ($20, 5 shades), and that’s how I was matched with Olive 2.
Up next is the Luminous Shimmer Blush in Leigh ($20, .16oz/5g). Leigh is pink coral with a bit of shimmer.
With obvious pores like mine, I stay away from anything that exaggerates these craters from hell. Applied light-handedly, this blush gave me the glow without emphasizing the obvious. Pores what else, haha!
Finally, let’s go to the Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow Minerals in Leone ($12.50, .08 oz/2.5g). Leone is soft gold with shimmer finish. This particular shade has a ‘lil bit of fallout so patting it carefully on your eyelid is highly recommended. I also find that it’s best applied wet to bring out the shimmer factor. With an eye primer, the wearability is about five hours.
So let’s finish the look. I added two coats of mascara and pink lippy; voila, this woman is as close to natural as she can get!
Some more things worth-sharing about Alima Pure: all products are certified cruelty-free, member and contributor to 1% for the planet, 100% carbon-free, certified B corporation for corporate responsibility.
