Makeup is not at all complicated. In fact, there are gazillion and one ways to look naturally-beautiful, if that’s your preference. Believe me when I say that you can achieve instant face lift by just focusing on your eyes. Need proof? Let this photo speak for itself.
Exhibit photo #justbecause |
See how my left side appears more uplifted and youthful? (*coughs*). Spot the difference gurl. From now on, remember this ~> BLI. Short for eye BROW, LASHES, INNER corner.
Eyebrows frame the face. It’s the first thing I notice and whenever I see un-groomed brows, (especially women my age), I feel sad. Over-plucked (supah thin) ages you and stray hair -ala- Hercules ain’t fab. So brows have to be somewhere in between: defined and naturally-arched. Earlier, I talked about different eyebrows that compliment your face shape. Now stare at the above photo again. My right eyebrow is uneven and sparse. Age does that to you, le’ sigh! But it’s also related to my habitual plucking (overtime, hair regrowth is compromised). So the first step to our face revamp will focus on eye BROWS. How do you define brows then? With a brown eyeliner or eyeshadow, line your (desired) eyebrow shape. A more detailed tutorial is posted here.
Consider yourself blessed if you’re born with doll-like lashes. Stooopid five year old moi cut my one and only walking doll’s (Leslie) lashes thinking they would grow back. Leslie probably cursed me because I grew up having the most lifeless lashes ever. I am not big on falsies so I am always on the hunt for the best mascara. It’s not rocket science but you can achieve curled and flirty lashes too. Take a look at this tutorial, you may learn a trick or two.
The next step is optional. Once again look at the exhibit photo. My upper lash line (left side) looks blacker and intense right? Thanks to tight-lining, it creates an illusion of thicker lashes. In case you’re interested on how I do this trick, a more in-depth tutorial is right here.
Finally we come to the inner eye corner. This no-fuss makeup trick will give your eyes a bright and refreshed look. Just dab a lil champagne shimmer eyeshadow (or highlighter) and you’re good to go missy!
