My fascination with anything rose-scented lives on. From body butter, hand cream, mist, lip balm, perfume, can’t stop sniffin’ em. Today, I am adding two more to my rosy arsenal: Jurlique Rose Shower Gel and Rosewater Balancing Mist.

I know what you’re thinking. A shower gel does nothing but cleanse, so is the $22-tag worth it? Is Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) any better than Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)? Well both are surfactants and used commonly in cosmetics because they are good cleansing agents. While there is no absolute proof that SLS can cause cancer (American Cancer Society), it is considered to be a skin irritant (European Journal of Dermatology). So to make it less irritating, ethylene oxide is added resulting to SLES. Which brings me to my next statement. If you have extremely sensitive skin or you have had rashes in the past related to the use of SLS or SLES, then you don’t need this shower gel. But if you’re like me who can tolerate SLES and you’re looking for a luxurious bath brand with hydrating properties, I think you’ll like this for the following reasons: it’s very soothing, doesn’t dry out skin, it has mild yet enticing scent.
