After retracting its decision to sell to China few months back, Urban Decay’s marketing saga ain’t over. According to news, cosmetics giant L’Oreal bought Urban Decay for $250-300 million.

L’Oreal owns some of the biggest makeup and skincare brands i.e Garnier, Maybelline, Essie, Lancome, Kiehl’s, Shu Uemura, Ralph Lauren, La Roche Posay, The Body Shop, and many more.

The biggest question is, now that Urban Decay will be in the hands of a huge global marketer, will they finally give up their long debated cruelty-free stance? They’ve been itching to penetrate China remember?

Is this news a shocker to you? Not to moi. I mean, companies bite the bullet to survive competition. And while I like Urban Decay, there are other indie brands that remain true to their ‘against animal testing’ policy. That’s somehow decaying in UD’s vocabulary. Oh well money makes the world go round. And flat. *smh*

Back to ‘biz.
