Expensive doesn’t always mean quality. ‘Been there, ‘bought that. Case in point- makeups. I like going to Walmart, Target and CVS (Long’s in Hawaii) once in a while to browse their beauty aisles. Funny how you go there for groceries and check out with a handful of makeups. I know I’m not the only one here, it’s confession time!

For my FOTD, I used 3 from this list of must-haves, can you guess?

At less than $2, this lippy from Wet n Wild Mega Last lip color (909D) is the perfect coral-red shade for me. It’s semi-matte and ultra-pigmented. I think I have 5 or 6 of mega last lipsticks… oh well you can’t beat that price beauties!

Probably one of my most used tool, this flat top brush from the land of the e.l.f costs about $3. I use this mostly to buff and blend liquid foundation or loose powder. The bristles are dense and soft. I’ve had this brush for over a year and it’s still in good shape.

Another great product from e.l.f is this $3 bronzer-blush duo. I’m picking up 2 new shades, let’s see if they’re at par with the original one. The blush is a little shimmery, enough to give me a certain glow. I like the bronzer for its versatility- I use it to contour and sometimes as an eyeshadow, how d’ya like that?

A rather surprising drugstore find is this khol lipliner from Jesse’s Girl (about $4). Pucker up is hot pink,  my signature shade. It glides smoothly and has built-in sharpener. Definitely a must-have.

Wet n Wild megalast nail color in refresh-mint ($1.99) is a calming shade, literally. There’s something about it that makes me relaxed and happy. ‘Betcha it’s the price.

What’s your best beauty find under $5?

Kathryne
