Eeeek, somebody please explain this mystical transformation. No kidding here mama! So I bought this Organix Hydrating Macadamia Dry Styling Oil ($7.99, Walmart) in hopes that it will revitalize my dry and ridic-tangled wavy hair but holly molly it did more than that! Ever since I incorporated this gem into my lazy low-key haircare routine (read~ shampoo, condition, air dry or messy bun), my hair became straight. And soft. And light. It’s like that hair commercial I have fantasized for eons!
My Hairy Tale. I have always sported cropped-pixie cut hair up until 2005 when I decided to look more womanly. Since then, save for some occasional trimming in between, my hair became wavy. A lot of times I have been asked where I had my hair permed. A compliment, I guess so. Truth is, while I like my long wavy hair, I hate the tangles associated with it. Many times I contemplated on cutting my locks super short again but nah! I think I’d have separation anxiety. One time I had my highlights professionally done and the poor hairstylist detangled my crazy hair for an hour. Embarrassed is an understatement. So far, the only product that worked with my mane is Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk (Lite) Curl Booster. It defines and detangles my waves like no other.
Enuff of the blurb, let this picture give you an idea of my wavy hair….
wavy, dry, often-tangled hair! Hot mess it is. |
Hair-raisin’ Result. Without altering my shampoo-conditioner-air dry routine (which is washing my hair every other day), I apply a squeeze of Organix Hydrating Macadamia Dry Styling Oil on my damp hair, brush, air-dry, and sleep (Ha! I’m guilty of sleeping with wet hair because blow drying is such a nuisance). Then in the morning or before heading to work, I apply about the same amount on my hair and brush. Ohemgee! My hair feels soft, light and for the first time ever, I didn’t feel that monster-of-a-hair! Here’s another pic for reference:
Moi today documenting this hair-y phenomenon. Whatever is in the ingredients that made my hair straight, I will hug you, Ms. Inventor. You just saved me time in days I want my hair straight minus the frills of that flat iron.
What’s more to love? Cruelty-free, non-greasy and it smells awesome!
Now I’m curious if you happen to have the same experience. Have you tried this yet?
xoxo
I am definitely trying this awesome product!
let me know how it turned out for you
wow! The result looks amazing!
I was surprised coz I just want to define my wavy hair and detangle it.. And I got this straight hair out of nowhere!
Your hair is so beautiful! I haven't had long hair since about 2004 (I think). It was very long like yours and I have very thick hair. I loved it then but got the bug to start cutting it short again so I did. I've grown it out a bit a few times, nothing past my shoulders. It grows fast but it's just so heavy and I have to straighten it to get it looking decent in my eyes. Quite a bit of work for long hair! Anyway, this sounds like a great product I know I love their shampoos and conditioners :).
Thanks Tina, it was the opposite for me, from short to long hair. I agree with the "heavy" feeling of having long hair. I always end up with a messy bun. But one thing strange w/ this product is that it made my hair soft, straight and lightweight, even my hub asked me if I ironed my hair. I am also using this brand's tea tree shampoo and conditioner.xo
I have to try this out now!!!! I have exactly the same lazy routine as you 😉
Hahaha, that's funny. Lazy, I mean low-key LOL
Your hair looking very attractive after straightened. Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience with us.
I bought this because of this blog post and it's pretty darn good. Thanks!
Glad to know. I am happy the way it made my hair look healthy and straight. Now I'm beginning to miss my wavy hair 🙂
