Tea tree oil is a staple in herbal remedies. It’s extracted from the leaves of Melaleuca alternofolia, a shrub indigenous to Australia. It’s known to have antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties.
For almost a month now, I have been using Organix Hydrating Teatree Mint Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s sulfate-free and very moisturizing indeed. Prior to using this combo, I have patchy flakes along the hairline. It’s not itchy like dandruff, for the most part I attribute it to long hot showers (too much heat dries out scalp). Lo and behold! This product solved that. I massage my scalp with this shampoo, rinse, and then do the same with conditioner. Both are lightly fragrant and my scalp feels fresh and cool after shower. Just what I need after a long and busy day!
Another fave is The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion. I have oily skin and this adult acne is such a nuisance. Like I said in my previous review, I reach out for this product to lighten dark pimple marks. Remember the nasty zit that made a scandalous scene in the middle of my collarbone? It’s gone now. This product is my go-to to completely fade it out.
I don’t deny that my bathroom is besieged with various body and facial wash (I blame blogging for that!). One facial wash that always gives me that refreshing feeling is The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Wash. Again, I find that it works for my grease ball face. It’s gel-based and doesn’t over-dry my skin.
Have you tried any tea tree oil products? What’s your favorite?
I think I tried pure tea tree oil from the drugstore a few years ago and it worked wonders when I was still getting bad breakouts regularly!
that's nice. i am cursed with oily skin, i hate adult acne :-//
