Face of the Day | Sexy About Taupe

There is something sexy and mysterious about taupe. Taupe as a color is akin to a woman that’s hard to decipher. It’s not a flat color but a mixture. So is it grayish brown or dark brown lightened with white? Interestingly, taupe is the result of adding orange and yellow and then deepened with black. Confused? Whatever. Taupe is my choice for today’s eye makeup.

For my lids, I used Mattese NYC Shadow Dust Cosmos, a cheapo taupe eye shadow! (review here). I then applied dark brown to my outer eye corner and blended light brown along the crease. I used matte champagne color for my brow bone, tight-lined my upper lash line with deep black eye pencil, and then sealed with black eye shadow. Two coats of mascara and moi is off to work.
