Now that my Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk Lite (review here) is almost gone- to- the- last drop, moi felt it’s time to try a different brand at fraction of the price. Enter Garnier Fructis Style Curl Sculpting Gel ($3.44, Target)

I have previously used Garnier Wonder Waves Wave Enhancing Spray but wasn’t impressed with the results~ it left my hair dry and tangled. So maybe this cream gel version will vindicate itself. Maybe.

As a backgrounder, I have long wavy hair. I trim it once it’s past my waist and dye it every three months. My hair routine is pretty much low maintenance: shampoo and condition every other day, use hair milk on damp hair, crunch to enhance waves, air-dry (or blow dry as needed), and use dry shampoo in between washings. Yep, I rarely use styling tools.

Yay, that’s my mane up there. And those are the waves “enhanced” by Garnier Curl Sculpting Gel.

The Buzz. Sculpted curls without the crunch. A new generation curl styling product formulated to provide the definition of a gel with the conditioning effect of the cream. Frizz control and bouncy curls. For best results, rub product between hands and apply to slightly damp hair.

The Bust. It’s cream more than a gel ~ a watered down cream to be more specific. The scent is similar to other Garnier products (slightly fruity). It’s not greasy and didn’t weigh down my hair. While I like the conditioning effect (very similar results with leave-in conditioner), I don’t get the point of the “extra strong” label. No bouncy and sculpted waves to boot, boo.

Overall rating. 3/5 Nice soft hair but didn’t give me the promise of chisel.

‘tried my best to get the full shot of my hair.

xoxo
