Gold is a pretty shade that compliments any eye color. I like how it instantly brightens my aura despite being sleep-deprived. Trust me, gold ain’t just for party or night time look. If you keep the rest of your makeup neutral, such as nude lips or barely-there blush, you can wear this at work just like moi.
For this FOTD (Face of the Day), I challenged myself to use only drugstore products! Here’s a snapshot:
Obviously, the feature makeup here is the eyes. I used Maybelline Color Tattoo (Bold Gold) as base and to help the gold eyeshadow come out a ‘lil bit more. Click here for full review. Then I applied gold shade from Wet n Wild’s The Gilded Age palette over my lids. For my crease, I used dark brown from the same palette, starting from the outer corner and blended it gently using a fluffy crease brush. Finally I used shimmer flesh as transition color a tad above the crease and just a little under the brow bone, and also in my inner eye corners. To define my eyes more, I used black eyeshadow to tight-line my upper lash line but skipped lining my lower lash line for a more subtle effect. Two coats of mascara, a dab of nude lipstick, a teeny weeny coral-ish cheek color and am ‘outta here!
My doggy begged me not to crop her out of the pic this time, hahaha! |
