Okay, I’m not a Dancing With The Stars freako but once in a great while, I do watch it. But you know one thing I noticed? Most of the celebrities who were quite heavy incredibly shed pounds. Gladys Knight, Kelly Osbourne and Kirstie Alley (who lost 100 pounds during her stint) looked radiant and buffed more than ever. So the grillin’ hot question is, does dancing really make you lose weight?

To say that I like to dance is an understatement. I uber love it. In fact, it’s my best kept secret how I have maintained my weight. I admit that there were times I was too lazy to do it, but like any other form of exercise, it takes a gamut of self-will to drag my as* out of the bed. 

Quick trivia! An hour of dancing burn about 300 calories. That’s one slice of pizza for you mah zillah! If you’re like me who’s into high impact hip hop and zumba, we burn around 500 calories an hour. Your body is sculpted depending on the type of dance. For instance, ballroom tones arms and calves. Salsa and hip hop tone waist and legs. One thing I learned from my previous gym memberships~ the faster the music, the more you burn calories.

I dance in the comfort of my living room, at least three times a week for 30 minutes. Maybe one day, I can push it to one hour. But I tell you, I sweat with all might right after 3 songs.
