There is something about Yves Rocher that makes me try more and more of its products. For one, I love the whole idea of botanical/ natural-based skincare. Second, the price range is quite affordable especially when they have limited time promos for beauty insiders. Case in point ~ Culture Bio Wake Up Cream ($29 original price but I got it at 60% off during their winter sale. As of this writing, it’s $20.50)

What’s even more interesting to know about this French company is the way they conduct business, in marketing jargon, it’s called vertical integration (1) They grow and harvest their own plants used in each of their products (2) They have their own manufacturing factories (3) They distribute their products direct to consumers thru online and mail orders (at least in the USA) & own retail stores in other countries. It’s like a boss who micro-manages, eh? Alrighty, I don’t mean to sound like a geek professor so let’s move on the meat of this product review….

The buzz. Culture Bio Wake Up Cream (50ml, 1.7 fl.oz) is described as “a moisturizer that revives the radiance of your skin. It’s a soft, non-oily cream with peppermint scent. Made from 11 organic extracts that stimulate the senses, hydrate and protect the skin against external attack. Makeup is easier to apply, you are assured of a radiant complexion.”

The bust. It’s a good day moisturizer. It is lightweight with a slight cooling sensation when applied. The fragrance is more citrusy than peppermint but not overwhelming. A pea-sized squeeze is enough to cover my face and neck. Used under makeup (without a face primer), it didn’t hold the liquid foundation long enough, but that’s coming from a very-oily moi so treat this statement with a grain of salt, oki? I didn’t notice extra special radiance or luminosity to my face but I love the fact that it didn’t break me out.

Over-all rating: 4/5 If you are into botanical products, this is a must-try. At 99.4% natural, I’d forgive the .6 shortage. Customer service is commendable (email them something and they respond with utmost courtesy). Hopefully they make shipping faster than three weeks! (to Hawaii, I am not sure with other states).

Have a fabulous day!

xoxo
