Staring blankly at the computer screen for fifteen minutes and scrambling for words ~ Ahhh! bloggers’ block. Inhale, exhale. Okay let’s try this one more time, blog!
In my quest to try and switch to natural-based makeups this year, my wandering fingertips led me to Ulta.com and clicked Sula Beauty, a Canadian-based company that manufacture makeups free from paraben/phtalates/petroleum by-products. The surprise element was the price – all under $10! Boo, 3 out of the 4 lipsticks were sold out so moi settled for the remnant nonetheless.
Quick Escape, $4, ulta.com |
Quick Escape is a tricky shade. From the tube, it looks reddish-pink; swatched, it comes off as peachy-pink; worn, it’s baby pink (All these photos were taken under natural light). The packaging is dainty and the tube’s tin-finish is sleek and elegant, a delight from a $4-lippie. It is moisturizing and the wearability is a decent three hours on me. The texture is soft and quite creamy and the scent is slightly fruity. Bottom line, I love it and I just put myself at Ulta’s waiting list for the other three shades.
Forget Me Not, $8, ulta.com |
Yet another online deception. Forget Me Not blush from Ulta’s website was photographed as hot pink. So imagine my amazement when this turned out to be a peachy-coral shade! It has good pigmentation and the wearability is about seven hours. It didn’t cake on me and I liked how it gave moi a natural sun-kissed finish – just the shade I was looking for to rock this spring.
Over-all rating: 4/5 It’s a definite must-try. My only gripe ~ wish they had more shade selection!
I have used both products in this picture…
