This is the last installment of my Skinn Cosmetics haul ~ a natural-based cosmetics created by celebrity makeup artist James Dimitri.
Eye Definition Shea Butter & Peptide Line & Shade Wheel (Warm) is an eyeliner mah zillahs! Frankly, what’s up with the long name?
$14, skinn.com |
Described in the website as an “eyeliner made with soft gel formula in three rich colors to create elegantly defined line or soft smoky sultry look. Glides on without pulling the sensitive eye area, blending easily and staying on for hours”.
Now here are the swatches ~
I liked my other hauls from Skinn Cosmetics but this one is a huge disappointment with a capital D and !!! The reason (s) being
- Pigmentation is nowhere near rich. Except for brown, black and gray are so pale to my standard. I like to be in control of the smudge effect, give me the blackest black and grayest gray. These ones are the weakest I have used
- It’s stiff from the pan. I thought it could be because it’s made from shea butter and you need to warm it up first. But c’mon, the coldest temperature here in the island is in the 70s. Don’t tell me I need to use my hair dryer to melt this? Too much work Mr. Dimitri
- It wears off when used alone. But when topped with eyeshadow (which is a usual routine for moi), the wearability is longer
- Except for brown, it doesn’t glide easily as claimed
Over-all rating: 1/5. This is a contender for Worst Product in 2012. Save your $14 + shipping cost.
