Product Review: Rimmel Glam’Eyes Quad Eye Shadow (002)

I’m not really a fan of Rimmel London, a line of affordable makeups sold in US drugstores and retail chains. Their brand of mascara makes my eyes teary, and their primer didn’t exactly deliver the staying power as raved by some bloggers/ vloggers. Not giving up, I picked up this eye shadow quad Glam’Eyes (002 Smokey Brun; $5.45, CVS) the other day because I was drawn to the classic bronze-brown mix which screams fab.

All four eye shadows are silk- sheen in texture so if you’re into subtle hint of colors, this quad might work for you. It is better applied with an eye primer first to make the colors more vivid. I didn’t experience creasing although they started to fade after four hours.

Common to other eye makeup brands, it has an illustration printed at the back panel to give you an idea which shade to use on certain areas of the eyes. Think outside the quad. Play around with colors and although it says that this was made for blue eyes, the warm hues can work for any eye color.

I used NYX white eye base/primer then swatched all four.
Without the eye primer, they looked bland.

Pros:

  • Available in 9 coordinating shades
  • Ideal for makeup beginners because it has a user-friendly eye guide
  • Buildable

Cons:

  • Doesn’t blend easily
  • Needs reapplication as colors started to fade after four hours (even with eye primer)

Overall rating: 4/5 Must-try

Here are some photos on how they looked on me:

I used all four shades

Very natural-looking
