I'm already feeling the scorching heat and it's not even summer yet. The last few days had been humid here in Hawaii so I'm preparing myself for multiple bouts of migraine-inducing temperature come summertime. Oh well, at least #makeuponpoint, haha! For today's post, I used mainly Pixi Beauty products. It's a combination of old (already reviewed in the past) and new (received recently) but still sticking with summer basics: light coverage to allow the skin to breathe while keeping up with the whole shimmer she-bang. As radiant as the sun, why not.

Probably unknown to some of you but before I started this blog six years ago, I used to run my own online shop selling handmade accessories. Life became unbearably hectic so I had to shut it down but I kept all the inventories because I love making accessories as a hobby. So lately, I'm into black chokers, they remind me so much of the 90s fashion, my era, my heyday! When I was Face-timing with my mom last weekend, she noticed my thin choker and asked where I got it. I told her I made it myself so immediately, I thought of sharing with you a quick DIY choker, zipper-style!

Natural skincare is something I highly favor but given that I regularly test out several brands outside this category, it seems to wane from my radar every now and then. But it's good to be back, thanks to Beautypress folks who sent me some items which include Ahava, Innarah and Eve Milan New York.

For someone who prefers light coverage with skincare benefits, CC (color correcting) cream seems like an obvious choice. It's great for everyday or daytime wear, more so during summer months because it allows the skin to breathe vis-a-vis soak in the moisture to prevent dry and dehydrated skin. You've seen me featured By Terry Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream numerous times on the blog, it is for a reason: in terms of coverage, formula and longevity, it has become my go-to CC cream ever since I discovered it last year. I have repurchased it couple of times already, proof that it is really that good. So using it as my benchmark, I want to compare it with Giorgio Armani Luminessence CC Color Control Bright Moisturizer SPF 35, a new acquisition which I have been wearing everyday for about three weeks now.

Orange is another challenging hue to wear, makeup-wise. While it's certainly a fall color, throw in some bronze and illumination, it stunningly translates to a summer must-rock. For this week's look, I played around Viseart's Dark Matte Eyeshadow Palette (review here) and Theory Minx Palette (review here). For fresh and illuminated face, I used Giorgio Armani Luminessence CC Cream and Guerlain Meteorites Compact (review here), complimented with Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow (review here). I finished the entire look with two coats of Pur Fully Charged Mascara (review here), lined my waterline with Lancome Drama Liqui Pencil Embrase (full collection here) and Clinique Long Last Lipstick Bamboo Pink (semi-frost mauve pink).

Blues are probably the most challenging when it comes to eye makeup just because they're a tad dramatic for everyday wear. But I convinced myself to come up with something subtle or daytime-appropriate by carefully selecting well-coordinated hues as well as employ delicate blending strokes. Gold in skincare is just one of the many breakthroughs in the realm of anti-aging. Luxury brand Allegresse, being one of the proponents, claims that 24 karat gold helps promote oxygen absorption to the skin which in turn produces uplifted and rejuvenated look. But aside from gold, all Allegresse products are infused with essential oils and plant extracts which help improve the texture and tone of one's skin. I had positive experience with this brand so I am glad to share with you another set of products that are worth checking out. Scroll down for more details plus a giveaway!

*Sponsored post in collaboration with Tria Beauty & Pretty In My Pocket. All opinions are my own*

As briefly mentioned in my prior posts, I've taken steps to up my beauty game by trying laser skin resurfacing and pelleve treatments. They aren't cheap, and depending on where you live, a package treatment (minimum of three visits for both) will cost you anywhere from $3000 to $5000. The price of beauty, but given that they're non-ablative with no downtime (depending on how your skin reacts), I'm up for the challenge. I had to preface today's post so that I can "hold your hand" as I share my experience with Tria Age Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser and Tria Nourishing Eye Renewal Cream in all of eight weeks and ultimately, give you the real score.

Cashmere is one of the three palettes from Viseart's recently launched Theory collection. Some of you are particularly enamored by it when I posted my review last week (read the entire collection here). If you favor safe neutrals, I say go for Cashmere as it can take you from day to night depending on how you coordinate the six shades. For today's post, I went with something soft, very daytime-friendly or work-approriate.

Viseart is one brand I have purchased multiple times (check out my reviews of dark matte, bridal satin and matte eyeshadow palettes) in the last months or so because the overall quality of their products is phenomenal. So while I already own several neutral palettes, I had to get the newly-released Theory collection, and I believe you should too! Scroll down for the juiciest of scoop, swatches and makeup looks.

The past month wasn't really a good one to me for a couple of reasons but moi can't whine over spilled milk so I'm keeping my hopes high for May! Anyways, I'm excited to share with you some products I willfully consumed and enjoyed last April!

Choosing the right foundation remains a challenge to most of us. For one, finding the exact shade is tricky as swatches online are not as reliable. Second, even if you shop in-store, the variety (or lack thereof) presents a problem if you're in between shades (oftentimes a case for me). Third, skin type matters (I used to have oily skin, now it's combination). Fourth, coverage speaks (sheer, medium, full). This endless hunt allows me to experiment brand after brand so for today's post, let me introduce you to Osmosis Colour Long-Wear Liquid Foundation. I received two shades, Olive and Golden Light. Scroll down for full details, swatches, and FOTD.

Lipstick fanatics agree in unison, Anastasia Beverly Hills has one of the best formula in the category of pigment-hugging, infinite-wearing and non-drying liquid lipsticks. When I saw the new spring shades popping online (8 in total), I hurriedly ordered 3, one a namesake so I had to get it no matter what. Scroll down for more photos, swatches and lippies in action!
