OMG you guys! A blogger's nightmare just happened to me recently.  I had to re-shoot all photos I took from prior weeks because my Macbook Air (where everything was uploaded) got corrupted and my efforts to rescue that white screen of death unfortunately went futile! I had to preface today's post because it will potentially affect my blogging schedule in the coming weeks. I ended up buying a new iMac, totally unplanned, budget-wise.

Now on with some good stuff. Who gets excited trying new skincare stuff? count this woman in! I think most of you will agree with me: the secret to flawless makeup starts with good skin because no matter what kind of makeup you use or application you employ, rough, bumpy, dull, patchy and dry skin will peek through. That's why I can't emphasize enough to invest on good products. It doesn't matter whether they're high-end or drugstore brand because at the end of the day, finding your holy grail is a labyrinth, trial and error for the most part. Thankfully, my combination and aging skin is in agreement with Jan Marini, a brand I have been meaning to try!

It's one of those rare days. I took the sweetest time to curl and style my hair last weekend. For someone who's content with messy bun, an epiphany of sorts unfolded: twist, curl, spray, repeat. 'Ey looking human is fun!

As mentioned from my previous post, Smashbox Always On Matte quickly became a runner-up (close second to Anastasia) in my liquid lipstick category of sorts. So much so that I added two more shades to satisfy this inexplicable satiety for all things matte. Is the beloved formula consistent across the board? find out which one fell short!

Today's makeup is rather straightforward, neutral eyes and lips but I took it up a notch with the addition of Georgie Faux Lashes ($15 to $18 per pair). Sold in 13 styles, I received No.3 La Starlette, described as "shiny and voluminous with a flexible black band that creates flawless black eyeliner look".

The following are still part of my birthday haul last month which got shoved to the backend of my posting schedule, but 'ey it's better late than never, right? High-end meets drugstore, I think we have a story here, read on...

With so many beauty or lifestyle subscription boxes floating around that are either bleh or "I've-seen-it-many-times-over", I am immensely happy to have discovered Indigo Beaux, the newest on the block whose mission is to fill our stash with high quality and hard-to-find beauty, skincare and relaxation products sourced from around the globe, valued over $100. For a flat fee, shipping included within the US ($65.99/month, $61.99/month if you sign up for 6 months, $59.99/month if you sign up for 12 months), you will receive 4-5 full-sized products that are mostly natural and cruelty-free. Currently, the box is not customizable so whatever I receive is similar to yours. 2% of Indigo Beaux's profit is donated to RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network), an organization that helps victims and educate the nation on sexual violence. They also ship internationally for a corresponding rate with option to cancel anytime. Ready to see what's inside July box? scroll down for the scoop!

Farmhouse Fresh is another brand you need to look into. Their products are mostly vegan, gluten-free and natural. I have tried quite a few already and I'm happy to add the recently-launched Citrus Cilantro Body Oil ($18, 4 fl oz/118 ml) to my growing list of must-haves.

How's the weather in your part of the globe? while it wasn't as bad the prior years, over here in Hawaii we are between low to high 80s but it's the humidity that's paralyzing me (72% as of this writing). I'm also feeling a little bit under the weather so between going out and staying indoors, you bet I'd rather be a couch potato. For today's post, I'd like to share some more summer finds that are worth checking out. With that I meant, products that I have found recently but not entirely limited to this season.

I have a soft spot for handmade products because I used to make and sell my own handmade accessories back in the day. But life eventually got so terribly busy I had to close my online shop (I kept the supplies tho for hobby). Support local, support small businesses. Because indeed, they are the backbone of our economy. Enter Mojo Spa Cosmetics, a company located in the trendy Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago. With over 350 handmade products to boot, they carry quite an extensive line from bath and body to skincare to perfume to makeup to hair to accessories, all made from naturally-sourced ingredients. The website embodies the free-spirited nature of the company, it does make me happy navigating it, take a look!

Happy 1st day of August! With my birthday month over, I challenged myself to tighten the belt and get back to the swing of things using and consuming my stash, unless it is absolutely necessary to break this vow, haha! But seriously, I was impressed with my recent pile of empties. Note that this is a cumulative year-to-date which include products that I revisited and/or reviewed months back. And yes, all but one are full-sized, much to my delight!
