If there is a "gown competition" amongst my ladies a.k.a lipsticks, Givenchy always occupies the top spot. From leather to floral to couture, each has its own personality and pizzaz. I reviewed a bevy of these bullets, hit search to see what I'm talking about. The latest to grace my stash? say hi to Noir Revelateur (toffee black) from Givenchy 2016 Spring Collection.
Available in 16 shades, I single-handedly picked up Noir Revelateur sight unseen, relying on gut feel that I will like it. After all, Givenchy has not failed me in the lipstick department.
The case although made from plastic is multi-dimensional and depending on lighting, casts a maroon-ish hue that is truly stunning. Pull the ribbon out and the tube un-fastens from the case.
Don't let the shade scare you because while Noir Revelateur is toffee black, it applies sheer with barely-there blueberry stain. It feels heavenly on the lips, ultimately soft and hydrating at the very least! Per company claim, "the unique formula is infused with black rose oil which delivers extreme moisture and comfort to the lips for hours". Worn, it has the provocative luster of a gloss and superb hydration of a balm. It is also mildly fragrant which I associate with grapes.
I didn't have extra time to do my usual portrait-style photo but that's how Noir Revelateur looks on my lips. You can tell that it's indeed wearable and perfectly fine for daytime gig. Coincidentally, this was my pre-Valentine FOTD. We watched Zoolander 2 last Saturday (which by the way sucked) and had lunch after. As to be expected, a sheer lipstick like this is no match to my hungry tummy. Oh well, that's how retouch is for, right?
The look of HANGRY. At least smoky eyes on point, haha!
Bottom line, another win from Givenchy! If you are looking to splurge post-Valentine, Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl Color Enhancing Lipstick is worth checking out!
