Tell me you can relate. You log in to Facebook, only to read the same rants from the same people over and over and over and over again. That and the countless twerking, boob-popping, self-glorification of sorts that make me shake my head in disbelief, que horror! Oh well, to each his own but if you're looking for ways to welcome 2015 with a positive vibe, beautiful mind, and fabulous face, look no further because I have some tips for you. Let the countdown begin!

As some of you know, I turned 40 last July (read 40 things about me). It's a milestone I have embraced with bursting confidence and graceful maturity. With age comes experience, with experience comes wisdom. I lost some battles but conquered a thousandth. Age won't slow me down, inactivity will. That's why I constantly motivate myself to push the envelope and defy age. After all, it's just a number. Look young, feel young.

As a beauty blogger on the side, it's an open secret that I probably own more makeups compared to my next-door neighbors and friends. So much so that I needed a dedicated room for this passion to store my collections and write in seclusion. While there are things I still need to refurbish, build and update to convert it to my ultimate woman cave, I took the initiative to purge, throw, and declutter to welcome 2015 with a fresher perspective.

    Red is predictably the color of the season but you know what's quite a revelation? I realized I don't have any red dress and that I only own one red blouse. But show me any red purse or lipstick and I'll rock them at any given time.

    Last weekend, I posted an obligatory #beforephoto at the salon. In the interest of precision (I'm still struggling with selfie photos), I have waist-length, wavy, sometimes frizzy, self-dyed, demi-brown hair. As part of my staycation therapy (2 wks holiday vacation zillas!), I want to give my neglected mane a fresh start for the new year.

    My stylist suggested that we do my hair transformation in two phases, which makes sense because I don't have the patience to sit in all of seven hours (3 hours last Saturday and 4 hours today Monday). Keep scrolling to understand the whole point of this ordeal #womenissues

    It's easy to get sidetracked this time of the year, fitness-wise. I have the ultimate sweet tooth and the innumerable cookies, belgian chocolates, truffles and pies are the hardest to resist. But see, it's mind over matter. After all, don't we want to ring in the new year with positive mindset and healthy lifestyle? I won't speak here as Auntie Debbie Downer but rather your Tita Healtsista! We're in it to win it, zillas!

  • I'm very picky (and nitpicky) when it comes to eyeliners. If you wear contacts, I'm sure you understand when I say that I loathe it so much when the color migrates and clouds my vision. Secondly, it doesn't help to possess sensitive eyes because it kills the fun out of makeup *insert tears here, haha* But telenovela aside, today's post is a continuation of my VIB Rouge Sale haul so sit back, scroll down and decide if Kat Von D Waterproof Autograph Pencil is for you.

    I'm all buried under the sheets as I type this post. Windy and quite chilly at noon, it's the perfect bed weather for moi. While I extremely love this kind of siesta-inducing vibe, it does take a toll on my skin, particularly my legs and arms. Dry flaky skin, what a humbug! That's why I exfoliate more frequently this time of the year to help moisturizers sink in better. As an exfoliant junkie, I'm telling you pointblank that not all are created equal. Anything too coarse and scratchy isn't good for your skin, and anything that contains artificial microbeads isn't good for the environment.

    If you're a Sephora VIB and/or VIB Rouge member, I am more than certain that you have used your gift card the moment you received it from the mail or email. I almost didn't but I couldn't pass up the $25 off of $50 purchase. I got most of what I really needed and wanted from the VIB sale last month so I settled for only two items, a replenishment of my favorite liquid eyeliner from Kat Von D and the newly-launched Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Tint-In-Oil.

    Beauty Blogazons Holiday Giveaway

    How's December treating you so far? I am exceedingly busy at work but eagerly looking forward to my 2-week holiday break come December 22nd! 'Can't wait to recharge, relax and pamper myself.

    Today's review is rather straightforward: short without compromising brevity, promise! Still part of my Sephora VIB Rouge haul, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Powder Foundation earned a coveted spot in my growing list of beauty faves!

    ::    affiliate    ::

    In a nutshell, it's a compact powder which mattifies and seals in moisture sans cakey, dry or splotchy look. I like to use it in combination with a BB Cream, in particular with Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Beauty Booster and Guerlain Super Aqua Serum BB Hydra+.

    Consistent to all Guerlain products, this powder foundation is luxuriously-presented, what with the hefty lacquer case, velvet pouch, decent-sized mirror, high quality sponge, and inviting fragrance!

    Available in four shades, I purchased 03 Beige Natural, a suitable fit for my medium skin tone. While it's marketed as a powder foundation, I don't think it's enough to use it on its own unless you don't need much coverage or you are photoshop-flawless! Seriously, I am nowhere near so this falls under a setting powder category. I use the accompanying sponge to set my under eye concealer and fluffy powder brush for the rest. It's finely-milled, very lightweight and looks natural.
